Exponential polynomials with Baker omitted value

We consider exponential polynomials of the form $F_l(z)=P_1(z)\exp(Q_1(z))+P_2(z)\exp(Q_2(z))+\cdots+P_{l-1}(z)\exp(Q_{l-1}(z))+P_l(z)$, where $l\geq2$, each $Q_i$ is a non-constant polynomial and each $P_i$, $i=1,2,3\ldots,l-1$, is a polynomial (possibly constant), while $P_l$ is a non-constant polynomial. This article studies the topology of the preimages under $F_l$ of the neighborhoods of the essential singularity at infinity. We prove that for each disk $D$ (with respect to the spherical metric) centered at infinity, the set $F_l ^{-1} (D) $ is connected and, in fact, is an infinitely connected domain with all its boundary components bounded. In such a situation, the point at $\infty$ is called the Baker omitted value of the function. Our methods extend those developed by Das and Nayak for the function $\exp(z)+P(z)$ for any non-constant polynomial $P$ (Complex Var. Elliptic Equ. 70 (2025), 1831-1847), providing a broader framework for studying this phenomenon. We further show that these functions do not admit any Baker wandering domain. Finally, we conclude by posing some problems arising out of this work.

A sharp stability inequality of Liouville's theorem for quasiregular mappings on bounded domains

Let $n \ge 3$ and fix $p>n$. We establish a sharp quantitative stability result in $W^{1,p}$ for Liouville's theorem for nonconstant, sense-preserving quasiregular mappings whose outer distortion $K$ is sufficiently close to one. We first reorganize Reshetnyak's classical local argument \cite{R1976}, drawing systematically on modern techniques such as those developed in \cite{FZ2022}. We then give two globalization schemes on bounded, connected domains. For bounded John domains, instead of Reshetnyak's original construction \cite{R19762}, which glues Möbius transformations on adjacent Whitney cubes, we use Whitney chains and Bojarski's enlarged-cube estimate to obtain a quantitatively sharp Euclidean stability result. Finally, we extend this idea to general bounded, connected open subsets of $\mathbb{R}^n$ via the Lorentzian representation of the Möbius group, yielding a compactified, weighted stability theorem whose underlying measure is absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measure and has density bounded above by one.

Asymptotic perimeter estimates for spirallike functions

By a result of F. R. Keogh in 1959, we have the inequality $L(r,f)/M(r,f)\le 2\pi+4\log[(1+r)/(1-r)]$ for a starlike function $f$ on the unit disk, where $L(r,f)$ and $M(r,f)$ denote the length of the curve $\theta\mapsto f(re^{i\theta})$ and the maximum value of $|f(z)|$ on the circle $|z|=r$ for $0<r<1.$ E. Crane and D. Markose in their 2005 paper showed that the constant $4$ is best possible. D. K. Thomas obtained in 1968 the inequality $L(r,f)/\sqrt{A(r,f)}\le 2\sqrt{\pi}(1+\log[(1+r)/(1-r)])$ for a starlike function $f$, where $A(r,f)$ is the area of the image of the disk $|z|<r$ under the mapping $f.$ In this paper, we extend these results to the case of $\lambda$-spirallike functions for a given $\lambda$ with $-\pi/2<\lambda<\pi/2.$

Componentwise rigidity of holomorphic isometric maps between bounded symmetric domains with negative conformal factors

Let $D$ be an irreducible bounded symmetric domain of complex dimension at least two. We study local holomorphic maps from $D$ into products of irreducible bounded symmetric domains satisfying a metric identity with positive and negative conformal factors. Under a noncancellation condition on these factors, we prove that every nonconstant component extends to a holomorphic isometric embedding up to a positive integer factor. This proves a componentwise rigidity conjecture formulated by Cheng–Hao–Yuan–Zhang.

On non-oscillatory solutions of the generalized Hill equation

Let $\varrho\neq -1$ be a complex number with modulus $|\varrho|=1$ and $K(x,y)=P_1(x)+P_2(y)$ for two polynomials $P_1$ and $P_2$. We consider the non-oscillatory solutions such that $\lambda(f)<\infty$ of the generalized Hill equation $f''-K(e^z,e^{-\varrho z})f=0$ ($\sharp$). When $\varrho=1$, the Hill equation $f''-K(e^z,e^{-z})f=0$ ($\dag$) is also written as $x^2u''-[K(x,x^{-1})-1/4]u=0$ ($\ddag$). We point out that there is a full correspondence between the non-oscillatory solutions of equation ($\dag$) and the Liouvillian solutions of equation ($\ddag$). Then this paper has two purposes. First, we show that if equation ($\sharp$) has a nonzero non-oscillatory solution, then $\varrho=1$. To this end, we solve entire solutions of a general Tumura–Clunie type differential equation. Second, for the particular Hill equation $f''-(e^{\mathbf{k}z}+b_{\mathbf{s}}e^{\mathbf{s}z}+b_0)f=0$, where $\mathbf{k}>\mathbf{s}\geq 1$ are integers and $b_{\mathbf{s}}\not=0$, we use Kovacic's algorithms to determine the non-oscillatory solutions with relatively few zeros.

Hölder Continuity and Boundedness of Composition Operators on Pluriharmonic $\alpha$-Bloch Spaces

In this paper, we study the metric properties of pluriharmonic $\alpha$-Bloch-type mappings $f=h+\overline{g}\in\mathcal{H}(\mathbb{B}^{n},\mathbb{C}^{n})$ on the unit ball $\mathbb{B}^{n}\subset\mathbb{C}^{n}$. By synthesizing local real-part estimates with the subharmonicity of $\log(\vert{} \det Dh(z) \vert{} + \vert{} \det Dg(z) \vert{})$ along hyperbolic geodesics, we establish a globalized non-trivial lower bound across the entire unit ball $\mathbb{B}^{n}$. Using this structural decay estimate, we prove that the invariant weight quantity $D_{f}^{n,\alpha}(z)$ satisfies a global Hölder continuity estimate of order $1/n$ with respect to the Bergman metric $\beta$. Furthermore, we investigate composition operators $C_{\varphi}(f)=f\circ\varphi$ induced by holomorphic self-mappings $\varphi\in\mathcal{A}(\mathbb{B}^{n},\mathbb{B}^{n})$. We establish both sharp sufficient and necessary sampling conditions for $C_{\varphi}$ to be bounded from below on the pluriharmonic $\alpha$-Bloch space $\mathcal{B}_{P(n,\alpha)}$.

Sharp Gaussian Mixed-Norm Theory for Fock Spaces

We develop a structural theory of the Gaussian mixed-norm Fock spaces $\mathcal F_{\alpha}^{p,q}$, where $\alpha>0$ and $0<p,q\leq\infty$, which separate angular $L^p$-means from radial Gaussian $L^q$-summability. We first prove the sharp circle-mean estimate $M_p(f,r)\leq C_{\alpha,q}(1+r)^{-\frac{1}{q}} e^{\frac{\alpha}{2}r^2}\lVert f\rVert_{\mathcal F_{\alpha}^{p,q}}$, $r\geq0$, where $M_p(f,r)$ denotes the angular $L^p$-mean of $f$ on the circle $\lvert z\rvert=r$ with the convention $\frac{1}{\infty}=0$, and show that the exponent $-\frac{1}{q}$ is optimal. The proof is based on a local mass principle for convex Laplace-type exponents, which also yields an annular discretization of the mixed Gaussian norm. Using this discretization, we characterize the continuous embeddings between mixed-norm Fock spaces and obtain an atomic decomposition in terms of normalized Fock kernels, with coefficients belonging to a corresponding annular mixed sequence space. We further characterize Carleson and vanishing Carleson measures and identify the continuous duals in the Banach, quasi-Banach, and endpoint regimes. For $p<1$, the atomic decomposition relies on a quantitative re-centering theorem that controls expansions of normalized Fock kernels under perturbations of their centers. This theorem is of independent interest even for the Hilbert Fock space $\mathcal F_{\alpha}^{2}$.

Repeated differentiation of random polynomials with i.i.d. rotationally invariant roots

Let $p_n$ be a random polynomial of degree $n$ whose roots are independent and identically distributed according to a rotationally invariant probability measure $\mu_0$ on the complex plane with finite logarithmic moment. If $k_n/n\to t\in(0,1)$, we prove that, as $n \to \infty$, the empirical zero measure of the $k_n$-th derivative of $p_n$ converges weakly in probability to a deterministic rotationally invariant probability measure. We describe the limiting measure explicitly in terms of the radial quantile function of $\mu_0$. This proves a conjecture of Hoskins and Kabluchko [Exp. Math. 32 (2023), no. 4].

Quantum modularity in refined topological recursion

In this paper we study the Borel summability and quantum modularity of the free energy computed by refined topological recursion on the Weber-type refined spectral curve. On the one hand, we verify expected properties, namely, Stokes rays come in a pair and the Borel-Laplace sum of the free energy coincides with the Barnes double gamma function. Somewhat unexpectedly, on the other hand, we prove that the generating function of the Stokes constants along each ray is a Jacobi quantum modular function. Our proof suggests that quantum modularity may be a general feature of refined topological recursion, applicable beyond the Weber-type refined spectral curve.

Hyperbolic area of Fatou components and new proofs of no-wandering-domain theorems

We give a new elementary proof of Sullivan's no-wandering-domain theorem for rational maps of degree at least two using hyperbolic area. We then develop this method further to prove that a transcendental entire function has no wandering Fatou components if its set of singular values is compact and all accumulation points of that set lie in the Fatou set. Neither proof uses quasiconformal techniques.

Blaschke Conjecture and Complex Geometry

We provide a complex-geometric approach to the Blaschke conjecture, i.e., that a manifold whose injectivity radius equals its diameter is isometric to a compact rank-one symmetric space (CROSS). In particular, we introduce the great quadric fibration, a complex analogue of the great sphere fibration. Requiring its total space to be a complex submanifold simultaneously explains many properties that a Blaschke manifold is expected to possess, including its Clifford structure, Hopf fibration, and diffeomorphism class. Furthermore, the great quadric bundle coincides with the variety of minimal rational tangents (VMRT) of the ambient Fano variety in the standard CROSS cases, and we explain this through a bend-and-break argument in the setting of the Blaschke conjecture under a suitable complexification assumption. Combining this with Hwang-Mok VMRT recognition, we prove the Blaschke conjecture for manifolds admitting an adapted complex structure on their entire tangent bundles.

The modified Cartan conjecture

In 1928 H. Cartan stated a conjecture about holomorphic curves in $\mathbb{P}^n$ parametrized by the unit disc, omitting $n+2$ hyperplanes in general position. He proved it for $n=2$. In 1996 the first-named author constructed counterexamples for all $n\geq 3$, and proposed a modified form of Cartan's conjecture which he proved for $n=3$. In this paper we prove this modified conjecture in all dimensions. As a byproduct we prove a quantitative version of the classical theorem that analytic functions are linearly dependent if and only if their Wronskian determinant is zero. We interpret our results in terms of the Kobayashi–Royden pseudometric on the complement of $n+2$ hyperplanes, and on smooth algebraic varieties in the algebraic torus.

Sampling and Interpolation in Gaussian Mixed-Norm Fock Spaces

We establish sharp sampling and interpolation criteria for the radial–angular Gaussian mixed-norm Fock spaces $\mathcal F_\alpha^{p,q}$, where $\alpha>0$ and $0<p,q\le\infty$. The natural point-evaluation scale leads to the normalized restriction $R_{\alpha,\Lambda}^{p,q}f = \bigl(f(\lambda)e^{-\frac{\alpha}{2}|\lambda|^2}(1+|\lambda|)^{\frac{1}{q}-\frac{1}{p}}\bigr)_{\lambda\in\Lambda}$. With this normalization, the critical density is the classical value $\frac{\alpha}{\pi}$ throughout the Banach and quasi-Banach ranges. For an arbitrary locally finite set $\Lambda$, sampling is equivalent to $D_{\mathrm{sep}}^{-}(\Lambda)>\frac{\alpha}{\pi}$, together with relative separation when $p<\infty$; no relative-separation condition is required when $p=\infty$. Here $D_{\mathrm{sep}}^{-}$ is the supremum of the lower Beurling densities over separated subsets of $\Lambda$. Interpolation is equivalent to separation and $D^{+}(\Lambda)<\frac{\alpha}{\pi}$. The same criterion characterizes interpolation for the little endpoint $f_\alpha^{p,\infty}$, and in both settings the normalized restriction map admits a bounded linear right inverse. The sufficiency arguments are based on rapidly localized Hilbert dual and Lagrange atoms together with a weighted localized synthesis theorem on the full mixed-norm scale. For necessity, we prove that lower stability of a rapidly localized matrix on a weighted annular mixed sequence space implies lower stability on $\ell^2$. The proof first passes to $\ell^\infty$ by translated polynomial cutoffs and a commutator estimate, and then uses the $p$-independence theorem for the Sjöstrand class. Applied through a fixed Hilbert sampling lattice, this reduces the strict density conditions to the classical Hilbert Fock sampling and interpolation theorems.

Weighted regularity and plurithinness in $\mathbb{C}^n$

We study weighted pluricomplex extremal functions with a fixed weight and a variable logarithmic growth parameter. We show that the regular parameters at a point form the empty set, the smallest contact parameter alone, or the whole contact ray. For continuous weights, we represent the right parameter derivative by probability measures satisfying quasi-everywhere inequalities. This gives a criterion for equality with the unweighted Green function. We construct two counterexamples to preservation of weighted regularity, using smooth plurisubharmonic weights and polynomially convex compact sets that are non-pluripolar and non-plurithin at every point. For the product example, we compute the derivative on the entire exceptional polydisc through planar Green functions and determine exactly where equality holds. The second example is globally pluriregular but has a positive right derivative. We also characterize the points where local pluriregularity fails without plurithinness, using negligible subsets and the plurifine topology, and prove preservation of regularity under local strict plurisubharmonicity of the extending weight.

Bimeromorphic invariance of $\partial\bar\partial$-property and blow-up formulae I: counterexamples and derived category approach

Using N. Honda's construction of twistor spaces, bimeromorphic invarince of $\partial\bar\partial$-lemma for threefolds and embedded resolution, we find a smooth compact complex threefold satisfying the $\partial\bar\partial$-lemma that contains a smooth compact surface for which the lemma fails. This disproves heredity in the smallest possible ambient dimension and yields counterexamples to L. Alessandrini's modification question in every complex dimension at least four. We establish a derived blow-up formula for generalized Bott–Chern complexes with coefficients, compatible with the comparison maps to coefficient cohomology. We also obtain a Dolbeault blow-up formula with bounded derived coefficients. For compact complex manifolds, we introduce a relative $\partial\bar\partial$-property, characterize it using the Frölicher spectral sequence and Hodge filtrations, and prove a blow-up criterion. Finally, counterexamples show the limitations of the classical formulae for coherent coefficients and singular ambient spaces, and the failure of the naive Bott–Chern Künneth formula.

Toeplitz and Hankel operators on Bergman spaces with doubling weights

In this paper, we focus on the boundedness and compactness of the Toeplitz operators and the Hankel operators on the $\mathcal{D}$-weighted Bergman spaces $A_{\omega}^p$ ($1\leq p<\infty$). In particular, the boundedness of Toeplitz operators with $\mathrm{BMO}_\omega^p$-symbols on $A_{\omega}^p$ is characterized in terms of the Berezin-type transform. Several sufficient conditions for the Toeplitz operators $T_f^\omega$ with locally integrable symbols to be bounded (resp. compact) for each $1\leq p<\infty$ are presented. Moreover, sufficient and necessary conditions for the boundedness of the Toeplitz operator $T_{\bar{f}}^\omega:A_\omega^1\rightarrow A_\omega^1$ and the Hankel operator $H_{\bar{f}}^\omega:A_\omega^1\rightarrow L_\omega^1$ with co-analytic symbol are established.

A computer-assisted lower bound for Landau's constant

We prove the lower bounds \[ B_\infty>0.51,\qquad L>0.51, \] where $B_\infty$ is the locally univalent Bloch constant and $L$ is Landau's constant, improving the bound $\frac{1}{2}+2\cdot10^{-8}$ of Chen and Shiba. The argument passes to the logarithm $g=\log f'$ of a normalized locally univalent Bloch function, where the Bloch condition becomes a one-sided linear constraint on $\operatorname{Re} g$; positive Toeplitz moment matrices then provide a finite-dimensional outer relaxation for the low logarithmic coefficients, and any non-negative dual vector for a linear program over that relaxation certifies a bound. Floating-point linear programming is used only to discover such dual vectors; the same duality also certifies the second-derivative bounds that control the Taylor allowances and the coefficient caps that contract the cover. An independent arbitrary-precision interval-arithmetic program reconstructs every witness and checks a finite cover of the normalized coefficient body by $1179$ boxes, the smallest certified radius being $0.51003$. All numerical premises were verified with Arb at $80$ decimal digits.

Small exponent Schatten class Toeplitz operators on convex domains of finite type

In this paper, we study the characterizations of Schatten \(p\)-class Toeplitz operators on smoothly bounded convex domains of finite type in \(\C^n\). On one hand, by using discrete Kobayashi lattice, we characterize the Schatten \(p\)-class Toeplitz operators by employing a probabilistic selection method for \(0<p<1\). At the same time, we show that the characterizations obtained by Kobayashi lattice are equivalent to the Berezin transform for \(p > \frac{n}{n+1}\). On the other hand, as an application, the criterion gives a geometric characterization for Schatten \(p\)-class weighted composition operators for \(0<p<2\) and also gives an analytic characterization for \(p>\frac{2n}{n+1}\). Our main results give an answer to the question that find a geometric or analytic characterization of the Schatten \(p\)-class weighted composition operators whenever \(0<p<2\) raised by Xiao-Yang-Yuan \cite{Xiao2026}.

A Product Principle for Harmonic Schwarz Lemmas: Boxes, Polydiscs, and Metric Geometry

We establish an exact product principle for the Euclidean operator norm of differentials of harmonic maps. For a bounded domain \(G\subset\R^m\) and \(p\in G\), let \(M_G(p)\) denote the supremum of \(\|dF_0\|\) over harmonic maps \(F:\D\to G\) with \(F(0)=p\). For bounded domains \(G_j\subset\R^{m_j}\), we prove \[ M_{G_1\times\cdots\times G_N}(p_1,\ldots,p_N)^2 =\sum_{j=1}^N M_{G_j}(p_j)^2. \] The theorem separates the geometry of the individual factors from the Euclidean geometry of the product: the factor extremal constants combine by a sum-of-squares law, while equality is governed by a single compatibility condition, namely a common maximizing direction for the component differentials. Neither convexity nor attainment of the factor suprema is required. Combining the product principle with the sharp interval and disk factor problems yields exact operator-norm estimates and all equality cases for harmonic maps into boxes and polydiscs. In both families, for every extremal map, the real differential at the origin has one-dimensional image. The same factor constants also define coordinatewise metrics for which the harmonic contraction estimate is sharp when the source disk is equipped with its Poincaré metric of curvature \(-1\). For boxes, the resulting metric is complete and equals twice the restriction of the Kobayashi-Royden metric of the product of vertical strips. For polydiscs, the harmonic product metric is pointwise maximal among contracting metrics of the form \(\max_j a_j(p)|v_j|\), with \(a_j(p)>0\). It is strictly smaller than twice the Kobayashi-Royden metric on every nonzero tangent vector, and its induced path metric is incomplete.

A counterexample to Eremenko's conjecture

The escaping set of a transcendental entire function consists of those points that tend to infinity under iteration. Eremenko asked whether every connected component of this set is unbounded. In arXiv:2108.10256, we constructed transcendental entire functions for which the escaping set has prescribed compact connected components; in particular, it may have a singleton component. This disproves the conjecture. In this note, we give an introduction to the problem, aimed at a general mathematical audience. We also sketch a variant of the construction in which a prescribed half-strip is an oscillating wandering domain and an escaping point lies on its boundary. The account is based on the second author's lecture at the 2026 International Congress of Basic Science.

Cesàro operator induced by a Bergman kernel

Let $\mu$ be a positive Borel measure on $[0,1)$ and $\omega$ a radial weight. In this paper we consider the Cesàro-type operator $C_{\mu,\omega}$ induced by the reproducing kernel $B^{\omega}$ of the weighted Bergman space $A^2_{\omega}$, given by $$ C_{\mu,\omega}(f)(z)=\int_{0}^{1}f(tz)B^{\omega}_t(z)\,d\mu(t), \quad z \in \mathbb{D}, $$ for functions $f$ analytic in $\mathbb{D}$. Under the assumption that $\omega$ satisfies a natural doubling property, we study the boundedness of $C_{\mu,\omega}$ acting on several spaces of analytic functions, including Hardy spaces $H^p$ and weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_{\nu}$. For $0<p,q<\infty$ and a two-sided doubling weight $\nu$, we completely characterize when $C_{\mu,\omega}: H^p \to H^q$ and $C_{\mu,\omega}: A^p_{\nu} \to A^q_{\nu}$ are bounded in terms of the interplay of tail integrals or moments of the inducing weights and the measure $\mu$. Many of the results obtained are new even in the setting of standard weights or when the Bergman reproducing kernel is replaced by the Cauchy kernel. In addition, we consider $C_{\mu,\omega}$ acting on $H^{\infty}$, Korenblum spaces and weighted Hardy spaces.

Two new proofs of Chui's Conjecture in Weighted Bergman Spaces

Chui's conjecture asks whether the average electrostatic field generated by $N$ unit point charges on the unit circle is minimized when the charges are equally spaced. Abakumov, Borichev, and Fedorovskiy proved an analogue of this conjecture in weighted Bergman spaces, showing that the corresponding norm is minimized uniquely by the $N$th roots of unity. In this paper, we give two alternative approaches to this weighted minimization problem. The first is a direct calculus-based proof. We reduce the norm to a pairwise interaction energy, identify the equally spaced configuration as a critical point, and analyze the resulting gradient system and Hessian. The second approach connects the problem with discrete energy minimization on spheres by Cohn and Kumar. By rewriting the Bergman interaction as a completely monotonic function of squared Euclidean distance, we recover the minimizing property of the regular $N$-gon. This second argument also extends the minimization result beyond the concave-weight setting of Abakumov, Borichev, and Fedorovskiy, including the power weights $g_\alpha(t)=t^\alpha$ for every $\alpha>0$.

Limit theorems for Coulomb gases on a Jordan curve in an external potential

We consider a Coulomb gas on a Jordan curve $\gamma$ in an external potential $V$ at inverse temperature $\beta>0$ and obtain an asymptotic expansion of the free energy up to $o(1)$ and a central limit theorem for linear statistics. We focus on the one-cut regime, where the density of the weighted equilibrium measure of $\gamma$ in $V$ is strictly positive on $\gamma$. The constant term in the (normalized) expansion consists of two parts: the Fredholm determinant of a generalized Grunsky operator and the Dirichlet energy of the logarithm of the density of the weighted equilibrium measure of $\gamma$. The coefficient of the latter vanishes for $\beta=2$. The variance of the fluctuations of the linear statistics only depends on the Dirichlet energy of the test function and is therefore independent of $V$. Essential in our approach is that the generalized Grunsky operator and the accompanying equilibrium parametrization allow us to transport the particles on the curve in the external potential to a reference object in a way that preserves the equilibrium measure. In our setting, the unit circle is the natural reference object.

Toeplitz $C^*$-algebras on radially weighted Fock spaces: commutativity and spectral representation

We study Toeplitz operators acting on radial weighted Fock spaces. We use tools from representation theory to construct commutative families of $C^*$-algebras that are generated by Toeplitz operators whose symbols are invariant under the action of $\U(n)$. For a partition $m=(b_1,...,b_k)$ of an integer $n$, we realize \[\mathbf{\U_m}:=\U(b_1)\times...\times\U(b_k)\] as a block diagonally subgroup of $\U(n)$ and describe the decomposition of the weighted Fock space into irreducible $\mathbf{U_m}$-modules. This allows us to study Toeplitz operators with $\mathbf{U_m}$-invariant, equivalently $k$-quasi-radial, symbols. Also, we provide an explicit integral representation of their eigenvalues. More generally, for an arbitrary compact subgroup $H\subseteq\U(n)$, we characterize the commutativity of the $C^*$-algebra generated by $H$-invariant Toeplitz operators in terms of the multiplicity-free property of the representation $\pi|_H$. Finally, for a logarithmically growing radial weight, we construct a bounded radial symbol for which the corresponding eigenvalue sequence is not uniformly continuous with respect to the square-root metric. Consequently, the uniform closure of the set of eigenvalue sequences does not coincide with the $C^*$-algebra of bounded sequences that are uniformly continuous with respect to the square-root metric.
