Geometric Invariant Theory for Affine Superschemes

We develop Geometric Invariant Theory for affine superschemes under the action of reductive algebraic supergroups, formulating the theory in terms of coordinate Hopf superalgebras in order to accommodate anticommuting and nilpotent variables. Within this algebraic setting, we construct affine superquotients and establish their basic structural properties under suitable hypotheses. We then prove a supergeometric analogue of the Hilbert-Mumford criterion, giving a numerical test for the semistability and stability of points under natural constraints on the supergroup coaction. We show that this numerical criterion can be used to construct the GIT superquotient of these superschemes, and we give examples illustrating how the supergeometric GIT superquotient differs from its classical counterpart.

PHP decompositions and primitivity of group rings for linear groups

We show that every countable group $G$ that has Ozawa's property $\rm PHP$ and contains a non-abelian free subgroup has the following property: the group ring $KG$ is primitive for any field $K$. As a consequence, we deduce that all non-trivial countable linear groups with trivial amenable radical have this property. Along the way, we prove that the class of groups with $\rm PHP$ enjoys some permanence properties that are of independent interest.

Breaker Chains and Splitting of Interval Submodules in Zigzag Modules

Finite-dimensional zigzag modules decompose into interval modules. For an ordinary persistence module, every fully supported interval submodule of a restriction splits as a direct summand, whereas this need not hold for a zigzag module. We study this failure of splitting. A breaker pair is a local configuration of two overlapping interval summands with a backward arrow at the left boundary of the second interval and a forward arrow at the right boundary of the first. A single breaker pair gives a local nonsplitting interval submodule, but it need not control a prescribed larger restriction. We therefore introduce breaker chains. Our main result shows that a restriction $V[p,q]$ contains a nonsplitting submodule isomorphic to $I[p,q]$ if and only if its interval decomposition contains a breaker chain spanning $[p,q]$. Equivalently, the proper interval summands $J$ for which $\operatorname{Hom}(I[p,q],J)\ne0$ have supports covering $[p,q]$. This cover formulation gives a constructive description of nonsplitting embeddings, a trichotomy for their splitting behavior, and an $O(m\log m)$ algorithm from an oriented barcode with $m$ intervals.

Igusa–Todorov Algebras and the Auslander–Reiten Conjecture

We prove that every Igusa–Todorov Artin algebra satisfies the Auslander–Reiten conjecture. More precisely, let $V$ be an $n$-Igusa–Todorov witness, and let $t$ be the number of isomorphism classes of nonprojective indecomposable summands of $V$. If a finitely generated module $M$ satisfies $\Ext_A^i(M,A)=0$ for every $i>0$ and $\Ext_A^q(M,M)=0$ for $1\leq q\leq 2t+1$, then $M$ is projective. As applications, algebras of representation dimension at most three and algebras satisfying $J^{2m+1}=0$ for which $A/J^m$ has finite representation type satisfy the Auslander–Reiten conjecture.

Acyclic quantum cluster algebras via Hall algebras associated to cluster categories

Let $Q$ be a finite acyclic valued quiver. We establish an alternative cluster multiplication formula in the quantum cluster algebra associated with $Q$, which exhibits certain symmetries similar to 2-Calabi–Yau properties of cluster categories. Motivated by this formula, we introduce a Hall algebra $\mathcal {D}\mathcal {H}_\Lambda^{{cl}}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$ via a certain quotient of a derived Hall subalgebra associated with $Q$, serving as an algebra counterpart to cluster categories of hereditary algebras. As our main result, we prove that the quantum cluster algebra associated with $Q$ is isomorphic to the exceptional subalgebra of $\mathcal{D}\mathcal{H}_\Lambda^{cl}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$, namely, the subalgebra generated by exceptional objects. Furthermore, when $Q$ is of Dynkin type, the quantum cluster algebra is naturally isomorphic to $\mathcal{D}\mathcal{H}_\Lambda^{{cl}}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$ itself. This establishes a Hall algebra realization for all acyclic quantum cluster algebras. As an application, we introduce the Hall subalgebra of $\mathcal{D}\mathcal{H}_\Lambda^{cl}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$ generated by projectives, yielding a Hall algebra analogue of the lower bound quantum cluster algebras. Then we show that the standard monomials of quantum projective cluster variables form a basis of the quantum cluster algebras via Hall algebra approach. Moreover, we show that the Auslander–Reiten translation of cluster categories induces an algebra automorphism of $\mathcal {D}\mathcal {H}_\Lambda^{{cl}}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$. Finally, we apply the BGP-reflections to $\mathcal {D}\mathcal {H}_\Lambda^{{cl}}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$, and prove that the Hall algebra $\mathcal {D}\mathcal {H}_\Lambda^{{cl}}(\widetilde{\mathcal{A}})$ is invariant up to isomorphism under the mutations at sink vertices of $Q$.

This yields dimension and formal equivariant-character formulas and recovers the descriptions of Demazure roots and anticanonical sections.

Graded Kronecker Modules of Constant Rank

Let $K(n)$ be the generalized Kronecker quiver, and let $(T(n),\Omega)$ be the universal covering of $K(n)$, where $n\geq 3$ and $\Omega$ is a bipartite orientation. We introduce three different types of representations for quiver $(T(n),\Omega)$ by $K(n)$: maps are injective in a representation maps are all surjective in a representation, and representations are of constant rank. We use $\Inj, \Sur$ and $\GR$ to denote the corresponding subcategories containing these representations, respectively, and we show that \begin{center} $\GR= \Inj\cup\Sur$. \end{center}

Elementary modules of the generalized Kronecker quivers K(n)

Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field. The generalized or $n$-Kronecker quiver $K(n)$ is the quiver with two vertices, called a source and a sink, and $n$ arrows from source to sink. We use $\modd\cK_n$ to denote the category of the finite-dimensional modules of the path algebra $\cK_n=kK(n)$. There exist a function called dimension vector $\dimu: \modd \cK_n\rightarrow \mathbb{Z}^2; M \mapsto (\dim_k M_1, \dim_k M_2 )$, and two functors $\sigma: \mathbb{Z}^2 \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}^2; (x,y)\mapsto (nx-y,x)$, and $\delta: \mathbb{Z}^2\rightarrow \mathbb{Z}^2;(x,y)\mapsto (y,x)$. Then the set $\mathbf{F}=\{(x,y)\mid \frac{2}{n}x\leq y\leq x\}$ is the fundamental domain of the dimension vectors of regular modules under the action of $\delta$ and $\sigma$ in $\modd\cK_n$. We call a regular module $M\in \modd\cK_n$ elementary if there does not exist a short exact sequence $(0)\rightarrow L\rightarrow M\rightarrow N\rightarrow (0)$ with $L,N$ being non-zero regular. In this note, we focus on the set $\mathbf{F}$, and when $x<n$, we establish a one-to-one correspondence between elementary modules and spaces of fixed rank.

A law of large numbers for Macdonald coherent measures

We resolve a conjecture on the law of large numbers for coherent measures on Young diagrams associated with Macdonald-nonnegative specializations of the algebra of symmetric functions for all $0\le q,t<1$. We prove that row and column lengths divided by the diagram size converge to the corresponding specialization parameters. The proof combines a monomial estimate for skew Macdonald polynomials with exponential tilting and binomial decompositions obtained from the branching rule for the polynomials.

The Gaudin model and the super Bethe ansatz for unitarizable modules over the general linear Lie (super)algebra

Let $\mathcal{A}^{\bf z}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ be the Gaudin algebra for the general linear Lie (super)algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with respect to a sequence ${\bf z} \in \mathbb{C}^\ell$ of pairwise distinct complex numbers, and let $\mathbb{L}$ be any $\ell$-fold tensor product of (infinite-dimensional) unitarizable highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules. Fix a singular weight $\xi$ of $\mathbb{L}$. We show that the singular weight space $\mathbb{L}^\text{sing}_\xi$ is a cyclic $\mathcal{A}^{\bf z}_{\mathfrak{g}}$-module, and that the Gaudin algebra $(\mathcal{A}^{\bf z}_{\mathfrak{g}})_{\mathbb{L}^\text{sing}_\xi}$ for $\mathbb{L}^\text{sing}_\xi$ is a Frobenius algebra. We also show that $(\mathcal{A}^{\bf z}_{\mathfrak{g}})_{\mathbb{L}^\text{sing}_\xi}$ is diagonalizable with a simple spectrum for a generic ${\bf z}$. Furthermore, we establish a super version of the Bethe ansatz for $\mathcal{A}^{\bf z}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ on $\mathbb{L}^\text{sing}_\xi$.

Simple Harish-Chandra bimodules in positive characteristics

Let $G$ be a standard reductive group over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic and let $\mathfrak{g} = \operatorname{Lie}(G)$. The category of Harish-Chandra bimodules consists of $G$-equivariant $U(\mathfrak{g})$-bimodules such that the adjoint $\mathfrak{g}$-action integrates to a $G$-action. In this paper we classify the simple Harish-Chandra bimodules and determine their central characters.

Simplicial Complexes of Antichains in Root Posets and Related Combinatorics of Dyck Paths

For a crystallographic root system ${\mathfrak D}$ we consider the simplicial complex $\Delta_{\mathfrak D}$ of all antichains in the root poset of ${\mathfrak D}$. We show that $\Delta_{\mathfrak D}$ is shellable if and only if ${\mathfrak D}$ is $A_n$, $B_n$, $D_3$ or $G_2$. Since antichains in types $A_n$ and $B_n$ can be identified with Dyck paths and symmetric Dyck paths, respectively, this yields a simplicial complex on Dyck paths. Indeed, in type $A_n$, shellability can be extended to rational Dyck paths. The $f$- and $h$-triangles then yield statistics on (symmetric/rational) Dyck paths. We determine these statistics for $A_n$ and $B_n$ and leave the case of rational Dyck paths as an open problem.

Cyclotomic expansions of colored $SU(n)$ invariants of two-strand torus knots and Bailey transforms

Habiro's cyclotomic expansion of the colored Jones polynomial has a higher rank analogue conjectured by Chen–Liu–Zhu for colored $SU(n)$ invariants. We prove this conjecture for torus knots $T(2,2p+1)$ and give a Bailey theoretic realization of the cyclotomic coefficients. For $n\geq2$ and $K_p=T(2,2p+1)$, the colored $SU(n)$ invariants admit an expansion $$ J_N^{SU(n)}(K_p;q) = \sum_{m=0}^{N} \left(\prod_{j=0}^{m-1}\{N-j\}\{N+n+j\}\right) H_m^{(n,p)}(q), $$ where $H_m^{(n,p)}(q)\in\mathbb Z[q^{\pm1}]$ is independent of the color $N$. The proof identifies the cyclotomic basis with a Newton basis and rewrites the resulting Newton coefficients as an ordinary Bailey transform. The Lin–Zheng formula for $T(2,2p+1)$ then gives a well-poised Bailey kernel. A terminating very-well-poised ${}_6\phi_5$ summation diagonalizes the kernel and reduces the integrality problem to an ordinary Bailey transition. We prove a uniform integrality theorem for these transitions in a formal integral $q$-difference operator algebra. As a direct corollary, the expansion yields the corresponding congruence relations and proves part(i) of the Chen–Liu–Zhu $SU(n)$ volume conjecture for $T(2,2p+1)$.

Relative Global Dimension of Controllable Extensions

We study relative global dimensions of extensions $B \subseteq A$ of Artin algebras over a perfect field. A controllable extension is introduced as one for which the relative global dimension is determined by the ordinary global dimension of the quotient $A/AJ(B)A$. General inequalities and sufficient conditions for controllability are established, including the case in which $J(B)$ is a two-sided ideal of $A$. The interaction between relative global dimensions and relative projective dimensions of the regular bimodule is then studied. The class of homologically controllable extensions is introduced, and it is shown to be closed under tensor products. Consequently, for homologically controllable extensions $B \subseteq A$ and $D \subseteq C$, we obtain \[\operatorname{gldim}(A \otimes C, B \otimes D)=\operatorname{gldim}(A,B) + \operatorname{gldim}(C,D).\] The proof relies on a relative Künneth-type result for tensor products of complexes, which may be of independent interest. Finally, controllable extensions with prescribed relative global dimension are constructed, along with families of non-controllable extensions for which the relative global dimension differs arbitrarily from the global dimension of $A/AJ(B)A$.

Degrees of Fano Quiver Moduli

This paper provides methods to compute degrees of Fano quiver moduli and gives explicit degree formulas for two classes of them. One such class is a series of toric Fano varieties that parametrize isomorphism classes of representations of the bipartite quiver $K_{(2,q)}^m$ with dimension vector $\underline{1}$, and the other class is the moduli space of q-point configurations on $\mathbb{P}^1$. In the former case, we obtain a formula comprised of sums of binomial coefficients in $q$ and $m$. Its special case $m = 1$ turns out to be the same as the central MacMahon numbers (OEIS entry A177043). In the latter case, we obtained a formula over $\mathbb{Q}$. These formulas are much more efficient than computing directly in Chow rings.

Cutoff for q-deformed classical card shuffles in the type A Iwahori–Hecke algebra

We study the mixing behavior of three q-deformed card shuffles on $\mathcal{H}_q(S_n)$: the short systematic scan introduced in \cite{DiaconisRam2000}, the $q$–deformed random–to–random shuffle introduced in \cite{AxelrodFreedBraunerChiangComminsLang2024}, and the $q$–deformed $k$–star transposition shuffle, whose $q=1$ counterpart was studied in \cite{ArfaeeNestoridi}. The first two chains were diagonalized in \cite{DiaconisRam2000} and \cite{AxelrodFreedBraunerChiangComminsLang2024}, respectively. Here, we diagonalize the $q$–deformed $k$–star transposition shuffle and use the spectra of the three chains to study their mixing behavior. For fixed $q>1$, we prove that all three exhibit total variation and $\ell^2$ cutoff. For the short systematic scan, these improve both the upper and lower bounds of Diaconis and Ram \cite{DiaconisRam2000}.

One-dimensional partial actions of 8-dimensional Hopf algebras and right coideal subalgebras

In this work, we complete the description of the one-dimensional partial actions of 8-dimensional Hopf algebras by computing the remaining cases: the Kac-Paljutkin algebra $\mathcal{A}$ and the unique non-semisimple non-pointed Hopf algebra $\mathcal{K}$. We prove that all these partial actions are symmetric, study their associated partial smash products and we determine all their partial coactions of dimension one. Beyond the 8-dimensional setting, we investigate which right coideal subalgebras of a Hopf algebra $H$ can be realized as partial smash products $\underline{ \Bbbk \# H}$ over the base field. In particular, we show that every right coideal subalgebra of a finite-dimensional cosemisimple Hopf algebra arises in this way.

On Donkin's Tilting Module Conjecture IV: New Frontiers

Let $G$ be a simple, simply connected algebraic group scheme defined over $\mathbb{F}_{p}$, and let $G_{r}$ be the $r$th Frobenius kernel. Donkin's famous Tilting Module Conjecture purports that a given indecomposable injective $G_{r}$-module can be realized as the restriction of a specific tilting module. The conjecture was first stated in 1990 and withstood proof for nearly 30 years. The authors discovered a counterexample in 2019. This paper provides some indication about the rich mathematics surrounding the Tilting Module Conjecture that also discusses an older conjecture by Humphreys and Verma. New versions of the Tilting Module Conjectures are formulated given multiple families of new counterexamples. Finally, through a new calculation, the authors present further evidence that the Tilting Module Conjecture should hold for reductive algebraic groups with an underlying root system of Type $\mathrm{A}_{n}$ for all fields of characteristic $p > 0$.

Lieb's Permanental Dominance Conjecture for Ordinary Immanants through Order Fifteen

Pate proved ordinary irreducible-immanant permanental dominance through order $13$ and identified $(4,4,3,3)$ as the sole remaining order-$14$ case, with $(5,4,3,3)$ and $(3^5)$ forming the order-$15$ frontier. These three cases are settled here; consequently $d_\lambda(A)/f^\lambda\le \operatorname{per}(A)$ for every partition $\lambda\vdash n$ with $n\le15$ and every complex Hermitian positive-semidefinite matrix $A$. The argument also yields results beyond this finite frontier: an exact four-term bridge for $(4,4,3,3)$, the uniform family $(m,4,3,3)$, a two-parameter family $(a,b,3,3)$ for $a\ge b\ge4$ and $5a\ge8b$, and a long-first-row criterion for arbitrary fixed tails. These results arise from explicit specializations of Pate's $W$-function positivity framework using partial swaps, Young projectors, Pieri–content identities, and branching data. For $(3^5)$, an exact Farkas certificate shows that the central-projector partial-swap cone is insufficient; a branching-refined one-swap construction escapes this obstruction and yields a positive $106+19$-witness certificate. Boundary-compression and node-moving results further describe the reach and limitations of the local-filter method. All finite certificates are checked by exact integer or rational arithmetic and are supplied as ancillary material. The order-$14$ bridge is additionally formalized and kernel-checked in Lean 4 for all complex Hermitian positive-semidefinite matrices, including the exact coefficient normalization and the deduction of $(4,4,3,3)$ permanental dominance from four explicitly stated Pate inequalities.

Stringy invariants for abelian character varieties

We compute all stringy invariants, encoding orbifold cohomology numbers, of (the normalization of) the identity component of $G$-character varieties of free abelian groups and of moduli spaces of $G$-Higgs bundles on abelian varieties, for all complex connected reductive groups $G$. As an application, we provide a direct proof of a topological mirror symmetry statement: the equality of the stringy invariants for Langlands dual groups. In the framework of Ginzburg–Kaledin local resolutions, we discuss the meaning of these stringy invariants, showing that symplectic resolutions of these moduli spaces can only exist in the cases of groups of Dynkin type $A$, $B$, or $C$. When such resolutions exist, the computed stringy Hodge numbers agree with the actual Hodge numbers of the resolution.

Jacquet–Rallis transfer for GL(2)

We work with Lie algebras and a (g,K)-module setting. Our main result states that for n=2, meaning GL(2) acting on gl(3), every polynomial type Schwartz function has a transfer to the unitary side and vice versa. Our proof relies on the Weil representation and the study of invariant differential operators. It also suggests certain structural properties of the (g,K)-modules in question which we formulate as conjectures.

A local approach to a programme of Meierfrankenfeld: initial setting and the symmetric case

A large $p$-subgroup of a group $G$ is a self-centralizing $p$-subgroup $Q \le G$ whose normalizer controls the normalizers of all the non-trivial, central subgroups of $Q$. In 2016 Meierfrankenfeld, Stellmacher and Stroth produced a result describing the $p$-local structure of a finite group having a large $p$-subgroup (the main examples arising from finite groups of Lie type in defining characteristic $p$). This result is a major success within the wider framework of studying groups of local characteristic $p$. We attempt to produce a result analogous to that of Meierfrankenfeld, Stellmacher and Stroth, but for fusion systems and localities. Previous work of Ellen Henke and the author shows that reasonable generalizations can be formulated and solved equivalently either within the realm of fusion systems or in the world of localities. In particular, in the present paper we set the stage for our analysis, showing how working within a locality grants a clear advantage: it allows to follow the same lines of reasoning as for a group. We therefore produce analogous reduction results and case subdivision as those in the 2016 result of Meierfrankenfeld et al. and, proceeding according to the analogy, we deal with occurrences of certain natural orthogonal modules and with the first of the cases that are to be studied, the so-called symmetric case. The remaining cases will appear in future publications.

Littlewood-Paley theory for orthogonal expansions associated with root systems

Based on the Poisson semigroup, we study several Littlewood-Paley $g$-functions in the spirit of Stein's work for compact Lie groups and prove their $L^{p}$-boundedness for $1<p\leq 2$ and for some of them also for $1<p<\infty$. As an application, we define associated Riesz transforms and imaginary powers and prove their $L^{p}$-continuity for $1<p<\infty$. Passing to the average with respect to the action of the associated reflection group, we obtain $L^{p}$-boundedness of $g$-functions for the symmetric Poisson semigroup for all $1<p<\infty$. In particular, our framework covers the Littlewood-Paley-Stein theory for Jacobi polynomial expansions and corresponding direct product settings as special cases.

Odd-rank maximal ideals at collapsing levels of type $D$

We determine the defining ideal of the simple affine vertex algebra $L_{2-\ell}(\mathfrak{so}_{2\ell})$ for every odd $\ell\ge5$. Perše's quadratic singular vector alone generates the maximal ideal of the universal affine vertex algebra at this level. Together with the established even-rank presentation, this gives a complete parity-dependent description of this type-$D$ collapsing family at $k=2-\ell$: one quadratic generator in odd rank, and a quadratic generator together with two Pfaffian generators in even rank. The proof establishes a rank reduction for the quadratic quotients under minimal Drinfeld–Sokolov reduction, valid in both parities. Nonvanishing of reduction on nonzero graded subquotients then lifts simplicity along the odd-rank chain from the known base case $D_3\cong A_3$ at level $-1$.

Torus actions on compactified braid varieties and polytopality of subword complexes

Every cluster variety admits an action of its cluster dilation group. We prove that, in the case of braid varieties for simple Lie groups, this action always extends to a regular action on each of the brick compactifications. We explore two applications of this result. First, we show that any closed Richardson variety admits a faithful action of a torus of rank the Kazhdan-Lusztig $d$-invariant, answering affirmatively a recent question of E. Gorsky–S. Kim–M. Sherman-Bennett. The same result holds for projected Richardson varieties. Second, we show that the braid variety is a torus if and only if for each of its brick compactifications, the polar dual of the moment polytope for this action realizes the corresponding subword complex. The braid words satisfying this property turn out to be precisely the double root free words of V. Pilaud and C. Stump. This provides a novel approach to the longstanding open question of the polytopality of spherical subword complexes asked by A. Knutson and E. Miller, and in particular gives infinite families of subword complexes admitting polytopal realizations in dimension higher than the rank of the corresponding Coxeter group. As a common consequence of these two applications, we classify all Bruhat intervals in finite crystallographic Coxeter groups which are isomorphic to face lattices of convex polytopes via certain double root free words.
