Some finite dimensional representations of shifted quantum affine algebras of type A

In this paper, we study finite dimensional representations of shifted quantum affine algebras of type A. We give an explicit description of the tensor product of simple evaluation modules of the quantum loop algebra and a one-dimensional representation of the shifted quantum affine algebra under the separation condition. As a consequence, we give the q-characters of some finite dimensional simple modules of the shifted quantum affine algebra.

The $q$-deformed cross-ratio: modular invariants and Coxeter friezes

We introduce and study a scalar $q$-deformation of the cross-ratio on $\mathbb P^1(\mathbb Q)$. Our construction is based on the notion of $q$-deformed rational numbers due to Morier-Genoud and the author. The $q$-cross-ratio is invariant under $\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{Z})$, while elements of determinant $-1$ of $\mathrm{PGL}(2,\mathbb{Z})$ act by $q\mapsto q^{-1}$. A principal result is its relation to $q$-deformed Coxeter friezes associated with rational polygons. The expansion at $q=e^h$ yields an algebraically independent sequence of modular invariants and relative invariants, although this sequence does not separate modular orbits. We compute the first two nonconstant coefficients of this expansion explicitly.

On Diagrammatic Categorification of Verma Modules I: Braiding

In this paper, we study the extensions of KLRW algebras to tensor products of Verma module representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. Our motivation is to construct a theory of Khovanov homology for knot complements in $S^3$ (and which also categorifies the Gukov-Manolescu two-variable series for knot complements), which will be done in the second part of this work. We construct the categorification of R-matrices for Verma modules as functors given by derived tensor products with diagrammatic bimodules and explicitly compute their projective resolutions. We also prove these braiding functors induce an action of the braid group on the relevant categories. Then, we describe how to incorporate strands in finite-dimensional representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$, thereby establishing functors that serve as the Khovanov homology on a braid complement. In the case of the unknot, this gives knot homologies in $S^1\times D^2$, which we compare to Annular Khovanov Homology through several examples and show they are very closely related, conjecturing they are of the same dimension. We conclude with a proposal for the categorification of the cups and caps of Verma module colored strands, which we build upon in the next paper.

Tensor hierarchy from deformation quantisation

We show that a formal deformation quantisation of degree-2 differential graded symplectic (QP) manifolds gives rise to the complete classical kinematics and dynamics of NS-NS supergravity, or, equivalently, its duality-covariant formulation as double field theory (DFT). Our construction extends the standard tensor hierarchy, encoding gauge parameters and their redundancies, to a complex encoding the physical fields, field strengths, and Bianchi identities. We present two realisations of such a complex: 1) a differential graded Lie algebra built from the algebra of functions on the QP-manifold; 2) a cochain complex that reproduces the tensor hierarchy representations conjectured in the literature and can be interpreted as a classical BV complex of the linearised theory. The deformation that gives rise to the dilaton comes from a normal-ordered graded Moyal–Weyl star product. This naturally extends the duality structure group from $\mathrm{O}(D,D)$ to $\mathrm{O}(D,D)\times\mathbb{R}^+$. Finally, our framework provides a direct route to constructing the DFT action via local double Lorentz invariance, and offers a transparent algebraic foundation for curvature tensors in generalised Cartan geometry.

Local Ocneanu rigidity for separable algebra objects

We establish local Ocneanu rigidity for separable algebra objects in Hom-finite monoidal categories C over an algebraically closed field k. A separability morphism contracts the first two Hochschild cohomology groups without requiring an abelian ambient category. Separable algebra structures and homomorphisms from separable sources have open algebraic-group orbits, and affine Bezout estimates give effective finiteness results. For Frobenius subalgebras, exchange relations replace the source and embedding data by a single self-dual idempotent. We prove that their separable inner-conjugacy classes are open in the exchange locus, yielding a bound of 2^(dim_k(End_C(X))) for any ambient Frobenius algebra X; connectedness gives the same bound on the actual number of subalgebras. As an application, we obtain an effective form of the Etingof-Walton finiteness theorem: every finite-dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra H over C has fewer than 2^(dim_C(H)) left coideal subalgebras. In the unitary setting, we bound E-compatible intermediates of C*-algebra and von Neumann algebra inclusions up to unitary conjugacy, under finite-index and finite-center hypotheses. For irreducible finite-index subfactors N < M, we improve the 9^[M:N] bound of Bakshi-Das-Liu-Ren to fewer than 2^[M:N] intermediate subfactors.

Quasi-modularity of symmetric quasi-shuffles

We develop an algebraic framework for the quasi-modularity of symmetric multiple $q$-zeta values. We identify natural classes of symmetric quasi-shuffles whose $q$-zeta values exhaust the algebra of level-one quasi-modular forms, and further classes whose $q$-zeta values are quasi-modular forms of finite level. We also obtain explicit symmetrization formulas and relate symmetric quasi-shuffles to symmetric and quasisymmetric functions.

Quantum MDS codes from complements of unions of finite-field subsets

Let $q$ be an odd prime power. We use complements of unions of subsets of $\mathbb F_{q^2}$ as locator sets and establish a sufficient condition under which a generalized Reed–Solomon (GRS) code is Hermitian self-orthogonal. Using cosets of multiplicative subgroups and sets with prescribed trace or norm values, we construct five families of Hermitian self-orthogonal GRS codes over $\mathbb F_{q^2}$. The Hermitian construction then yields five corresponding families of $q$-ary quantum maximum-distance-separable (MDS) codes. Under suitable parameter conditions, these quantum codes have minimum distances greater than $q/2+1$. By comparing codes of the same length, we give conditions under which our codes have strictly larger minimum distances than those obtainable from several previously known constructions based on trace maps, linear transformations, and cosets of multiplicative subgroups, either directly or via the propagation rule. We further show that such improvements occur for infinitely many values of $q$.

Lifting strongly graded rings via overgroups

Motivated by lifting problems for principal bundles, we study the following algebraic problem. Let $\smash{\widehat{G}}$ be a group with identity element $e$, let $G \leq \smash{\widehat{G}}$, and let $S$ be a strongly $G$-graded unital ring with principal component $R:=S_e$. We ask whether the given grading extends to a strong $\smash{\widehat{G}}$-grading without altering its $G$-homogeneous components. For every extension $\smash{\widehat{p}}$ of the Picard homomorphism of $S$, we construct a characteristic class in the relative third cohomology group \[ H^3_{\smash{\widehat{p}}}(\smash{\widehat{G}},G;\operatorname{U}(Z(R))), \] where $Z(R)$ denotes the center of $R$ and $\operatorname{U}(Z(R))$ its group of units. The~vanishing of this class is equivalent to the existence of a lift. When it vanishes, the relative second cohomology group \[ H^2_{\smash{\widehat{p}}}(\smash{\widehat{G}},G;\operatorname{U}(Z(R))) \] acts simply transitively on the equivalence classes of lifts with Picard homomorphism $\smash{\widehat{p}}$. We also prove that an $H$-grading is strong if and only if both its restriction to a normal subgroup $N \trianglelefteq H$ and its induced $H/N$-grading are strong. We illustrate the theory through a range of examples.

Classification of finite-dimensional Nichols algebras of rank two in twisted Yetter–Drinfeld categories

Let \(G\) be a finite non-abelian group, let \(\Phi\in Z^3(G,\mathbb C^\times)\) be normalized, and let \(V,W\) be finite-dimensional simple objects of \({}_G^G\mathcal{YD}^{\Phi}\). We classify, up to interchange, the braided-indecomposable pairs \((V,W)\) whose supports generate \(G\) and for which \(\mathcal B(V\oplus W)\) is finite-dimensional. The classification consists of eight cases with five possible support quandles. In every case the Cartan graph is standard of type \(A_2\), \(B_2\), or \(G_2\), and the dimension is determined explicitly. A new phenomenon occurs {in the \(\Gamma _2\) case}: the twisted setting admits a family of type \(G_2\) absent from the ordinary \(\Gamma _2\) classification and we construct an explicit example over a non-abelian group of order \(16\).

Weyl defects in skein theory and quantum cluster charts

We prove a modified invertibility property for the parabolic defects introduced in arXiv:2102.12283, arXiv:2505.14836. Namely, we show that the Borel defect cancels its dual, up to insertion of an invertible Weyl defect and up to restriction to an open-subcategory. The main result holds for an arbitrary reductive group $G$ – for illustration we give extended computations for $G=\mathrm{SL}_3$. Along the way, we introduce a defect skein theory with defects in both codimension one and two, which is compatible with gluing of defect 3-manifolds and defect surfaces. Our results provide a potential defect skein theoretic construction of certain standard charts which appears frequently in quantum cluster varieties associated to surfaces.

Vector Bundles of Coinvariants for Admissible Affine Vertex Operator Algebras

Simple affine vertex operator algebras $L_k(\mathfrak{g})$ at non-integral admissible levels $k$ are generally neither $C_2$-cofinite nor rational. Despite the absence of these standard finiteness conditions, we prove that the sheaf of coinvariants (and, dually, of conformal blocks) of ordinary modules in the category $\mathcal{O}_k$ forms a vector bundle over the moduli space $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{0,n}$ of stable $n$-pointed genus-zero curves. The proof relies on establishing the finite-dimensionality of genus-zero coinvariants, a vanishing theorem that isolates ordinary admissible modules at the boundary, and a smoothing theorem enabled by partial strong identity elements in the mode transition algebra. Consequently, admissible affine vertex operator algebras supply a rich class of non-rational, non-$C_2$-cofinite examples in which vector-bundle behavior is preserved for a well-behaved subcategory of modules.

Partial $F$-invariants and cluster categorifications

The $F$-invariant in cluster algebras is a combinatorial invariant that unifies the $E$-invariant from additive categorification and the $\mathfrak{d}$-invariant from monoidal categorification. In this paper, we study its refinement, the partial $F$-invariant, and establish its mutation formula under changes of the initial seed. As an application, we prove a conjecture of Reading, which asserts that the non-compatible cluster variables can be separated by sign-coherence of $g$-vectors upon varying the initial seed. We further show that, for cluster monomials, the partial $F$-invariants coincide with both the partial $E$-invariants for reachable decorated representations of quivers with potentials and the pole orders of normalized $R$-matrices (or partial $\mathfrak{d}$-invariants) for finite-dimensional reachable simple modules over quantum affine algebras. As consequences, we obtain a combinatorial formula for the pole orders for reachable simple modules in terms of $q$-characters; we verify the conjectural explicit formula for the pole orders between Kirillov–Reshetikhin modules.

Double cross products with projections and relative Rota-Baxter operators on Hopf algebras

Given a matched pair of Hopf algebras, the double cross product construction yields a new Hopf algebra, the prototypical example of which is the generalized quantum double arising from a (Hopf) skew pairing. In this paper, we specifically investigate double cross products with projections in the framework of Radford's biproduct theory, and establish that such an algebraic structure is equivalent to a simplified version of (Yetter-Drinfeld) relative Rota-Baxter operators on Hopf algebras recently introduced by Sciandra, with the corresponding braided Hopf algebras lying in the Yetter-Drinfeld module category under coadjoint coactions. We further examine conditions under which this algebraic structure induces a matched pair of actions on a single Hopf algebra, which is in turn equivalent to the notion of braiding operators on Hopf algebras that yield solutions of the braid equation. In addition, we show that such relative Rota-Baxter operators are morphisms between certain Doi-Hopf modules.

Presenting mirabolic quantum Schur algebras $\mathcal{MS}_v(2,d)$

Let $v$ be an indeterminate. We give a presentation of the mirabolic quantum Schur algebra $\mathcal{MS}_v(2,d)$ in terms of generators and defining relations. More precisely, we determine the kernel of the natural epimorphism from Rosso's mirabolic quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$, $\mathbf U^{\mathrm{mir}}_v(2)=\langle e,f,k^{\pm 1},\ell\rangle$, onto $\mathcal{MS}_v(2,d)$. Setting $P_d(k)=\prod_{r=0}^{d}(k-v^{2r-d})$ and $Q_d(k)=\prod_{r=1}^{d}(k-v^{2r-d})$, we prove $\mathcal{MS}_v(2,d)\cong \mathbf U^{\mathrm{mir}}_v(2)/ \left\langle P_d(k),(\ell-1)Q_d(k)\right\rangle$. We further determine the split Wedderburn decomposition of this quotient and provide an equivalent presentation in terms of weight idempotents.

Cohomological Hall algebras and Quot schemes of curves

We study cohomological Hall algebras of curves and their actions on the homology of Quot schemes. We introduce the virtual homology of Quot schemes and show that it is preserved by both creation and annihilation actions. We prove that the torsion CoHA is isomorphic to a shuffle algebra and, equivalently, to a braided symmetric algebra associated with a Yang-Baxter operator. We use this description to determine the ideal of tautological relations for punctual Quot schemes and obtain a new basis for their cohomology rings. Finally, we introduce a universal way to double the torsion CoHA and show that it acts naturally on the virtual homology of Quot schemes of arbitrary type.

Quasi-split iYangians: minimalistic presentations and coideal structures

We study iYangians, namely twisted Yangians in the Drinfeld current presentation, associated with quasi-split symmetric pairs of type $\mathsf{ADE}$ with nontrivial diagram involution. We establish minimalistic presentations in terms of degree-zero and degree-one generators. Type $\mathsf A_{2n}$ is treated separately: the isolated rank-two case requires two additional relations, whereas in higher rank these relations are forced by the neighboring noncentral orbit. As a by-product, we strengthen Theorem 3.1 in arxiv:2511.07136 by proving that the extra relation in the minimalistic presentation of split iYangian is redundant whenever $\mathfrak g$ has rank at least two. We also construct explicit injective homomorphisms from quasi-split iYangians into Yangians, identify their images as right coideal subalgebras, and obtain isomorphisms between the Drinfeld and $J$ presentations. Finally, we derive triangular estimates for the Drinfeld currents and their coproducts and apply them to the ${}^\imath\ell$-weights arising by restriction from finite-dimensional Yangian modules.

Homological properties of quantum groups governed by small quantum groups

We develop a general characteristic-free framework for studying the homological properties of a broad class of module-finite Hopf algebras. This framework makes it possible to reduce the study of the homological properties of many quantum groups at roots of unity and their multiparameter deformations to the study of the corresponding small quantum groups. For any affine Hopf algebra $H$ admitting a large central Hopf subalgebra $C$, we prove that its left homological integral space, in the sense of Lu-Wu-Zhang, is isomorphic as a bimodule to the left integral space of the identity fiber algebra, which is a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra. Consequently, $H$ is a symmetric Frobenius extension of $C$ if and only if the corresponding identity fiber algebra is unimodular and the square of the antipode of $H$ is inner, thus providing an effective criterion for the Calabi-Yau property of $H$. For a broad class of quantum groups at roots of unity, an appropriate large central Hopf subalgebra can be chosen such that the identity fiber algebra is the corresponding small quantum group. Therefore, some homological properties of these big quantum groups are governed by those of their corresponding small quantum groups. Assuming that the base field is algebraically closed, we prove that $H$ is unimodular if and only if, for some (equivalently, every) maximal ideal $\mathfrak{m}$ of $C$, the category of finite-dimensional representations of the fiber algebra at $\mathfrak{m}$ is unimodular in the sense of Yadav as a module category over the finite tensor category of finite-dimensional representations of the identity fiber algebra. As an application, we prove that all Andruskiewitsch-Angiono-Yakimov large quantum groups are affine noetherian unimodular Artin-Schelter Gorenstein Hopf algebras. We also give a necessary and sufficient condition for these large quantum groups to be Calabi-Yau.

Spherical DAHA as an algebra of framed BPS states

Line operators of 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ theories of class $\mathcal{S}$ of type $A_{N-1}$ in a half Omega background provide a physical model for $SL_N$ skein algebras. In this paper we extend this correspondence to $GL_N$ skein algebras and prove that the $GL_2$ skein algebra of the punctured torus is isomorphic to the $GL_2$ spherical double affine Hecke algebra ${{\mathbf{S}\ddot{\mathbf{H}}}}^{q,t}_2$. The construction is based on $\mathfrak{q}$-nonabelianization for the $SU(2)$ $\mathcal{N}=2^*$ gauge theory, which realizes the skein algebra as a quantum torus algebra associated with the Seiberg-Witten curve. Different regions of the Coulomb branch yield distinct presentations of ${{\mathbf{S}\ddot{\mathbf{H}}}}^{q,t}_2$. These range from the Macdonald $q$-difference module in Fenchel-Nielsen (weak coupling) charts to cluster-type realizations in Fock-Goncharov (strong coupling) charts. Transitions between these descriptions are governed by the vanilla BPS spectrum of the $\mathcal{N}=2^*$ theory via framed wall-crossing, which provides a unified physical framework for several representations of spherical DAHA.

Crossed-module crossed braided categories

For a crossed module $\chi: G \to H$, we introduce the notion of $\chi$-crossed braided (resp. ribbon) categories, where the categories are graded by group $G$ and carry an $H$-action. Our definition unifies and generalises several familiar notions: taking $\chi = id: G \to G$ with the conjugation action recovers $G$-crossed braided categories; taking $\chi: G \to \{*\}$ for abelian $G$ yields $G$-graded braided categories; taking $\chi: \{*\} \to G$ leads to braided categories equipped with a $G$-action. The equivalence relation between $\chi$-crossed braided categories is typically finer than that between $G$-crossed braided ones. We classify $\chi$-crossed braided structures on the category of $G$-graded vector spaces in terms of cohomological data, and give explicit examples for cyclic groups. Given a doubly central algebra with $G$- and $H$-actions in a braided monoidal category, we define a notion of twisted-local modules and show how they give rise to $\chi$-crossed braided categories. We furthermore give sufficient conditions so that these categories are additionally $\chi$-crossed ribbon or admit an orthogonal $G$-decomposition.

A dual theory of twisted Zhu's theory

The notion of admissible $g$-twisted $V$-comodules is investigated for a graded vertex operator coalgebra $V$ and a finite order automorphism $g\in \Aut V$. We prove that $\mathcal {M}$ is an admissible $g$-twisted $V$-comodule if and only if its graded dual $\mathcal {M}'$ is an admissible $g^{-1}$-twisted $V'$-module for vertex operator algebra $V'$. Then we establish a dual theory of twisted Zhu's theory, i.e., there is a coassociative coalgebra $C_g(V)$ for a graded vertex operator coalgebra $V$, any admissible $g$-twisted $V$-comodule gives a $C_g(V)$-comodule, and vice versa. We also prove that $V$ is $g$-corational, which means every admissible $g$-twisted $V$-comodule is completely reducible, if and only if its dual vertex operator algebra $V'$ is $g$-rational.

Operator Michelson Contrast: Logarithmic Parametrisation, Subadditivity, and a Sharp Noncommutativity Threshold

We study the operator Michelson contrast Delta(A) = (kappa(A)-1)/(kappa(A)+1), with kappa(A)=||A|| ||A^{-1}||, for positive invertible operators, and introduce its logarithmic parametrization via arctanh(Delta(A)) = (1/2) ln kappa(A). This defines the Operator Logarithmic Contrast (OLC), extended to all invertible operators via polar decomposition. We prove OLC is subadditive under multiplication: OLC(AB) <= OLC(A)+OLC(B). For positive invertible A, we identify OLC(A) exactly as the projective Thompson distance from the identity ray to the ray of A. We establish a sharp dimensional threshold for equality in subadditivity: for dimensions 2 and 3, equality forces commutativity, while n=4 is the smallest dimension admitting noncommuting equality examples. Moreover, equality still forces commutativity in any total dimension if the operators factor as pure Kronecker products X = tensor X_i and Y = tensor Y_i with each factor dimension <= 3. We derive contraction inequalities, sum bounds, trace estimates for density operators, Lipschitz continuity (including singular limits), and limiting behavior for Cesaro means and infinite products. For density operators, we obtain an exact closed-form bijection between OLC and von Neumann entropy for qubits; prove this bijection does not exist for d >= 3; and establish upper/lower entropy envelopes at fixed condition number, showing the admissible range [S_min(kappa), S_max(kappa)] satisfies ln 2 <= S_max(kappa) < ln 3 for every kappa > 1. The qubit case recovers, as an operator lift, the classical Michelson-Jensen-Shannon equivalence of Bruni, Rossi, and Vitulano, while a counterexample shows this equivalence fails for d > 2 as a direct consequence of the non-bijectivity.

Thickening realization and positivity properties of canonical bases

Let $\mathbf{U}$ be a quantum group associated with a symmetric Cartan datum, let $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$ be its modified form, and let $\dot{\mathbf{B}}$ be the canonical basis of $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$. Lusztig conjectured that the structure constants of the multiplication, comultiplication, and bilinear form in $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$ with respect to $\dot{\mathbf{B}}$ belong to $\mathbb{N}[v,v^{-1}]$. We introduce the thickening realization, which relates $\dot{\mathbf{B}}$ to the canonical basis of the negative part of a larger quantum group $\tilde{\mathbf{U}}^-$. More precisely, it identifies the relevant structure constants in $\dot{\mathbf{U}}$ with the structure constants in $\tilde{\mathbf{U}}^-$. As consequences, we prove, for arbitrary symmetric Cartan datum, $\dot{\mathbf{B}}$ has the positivity properties for the comultiplication and bilinear form, as well as the positivity for the multiplication whenever one factor is spherical parabolic. In particular, Lusztig's conjecture holds for simply-laced finite type. We also prove the canonical bases of a broad class of tensor products of integrable modules have the positivity properties for the transition matrices and actions by $\dot{\mathbf{B}}$.

Iterative construction of the R-matrices in arbitrary dimensions

We investigate a special ansats that allows for an iterative solution of the constant Yang-Baxter equation. Testing this ansatz, we construct four sequences of the constant R-matrices. In each sequence the R-matrices act on the tensor squares of vector spaces of linearly growing dimensions. Each R-matrix also depends on a single complex parameter. By analyzing the spectra of the R-matrices, we conclude that the first and the third series are associated with the symmetric tensor representations of the quantum groups U_q(sl(2)) and U_q(sl(2|1)), respectively. The other two series appear to be related to representations of quantum groups in the case where q is a root of unity. The elements of the second series are associated with nilpotent representations of U_q(sl(2)). We also check the correspondence between these R-matrices and link invariants. Applying the Reshetikhin-Turaev procedure to the first, second, and fourth sequences yields, respectively, colored Jones polynomials, ADO invariants, and Alexander polynomials. To our surprise, a similar calculation for the third series yields a trivial result, identically equal to 1.

Derived Associative Algebras and Cyclic Cohomology of Q-manifolds

Loday's derived product is revisited in the setting of Q-manifolds, i.e., supermanifolds equipped with an odd vector field that `squares to zero'. We interpret the Grassmann odd product as a standard product upon shifting the grading, which implies the existence of a derived (noncommutative) associative $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded algebra associated with any Q-manifold. We apply Connes' cyclic cohomology to the derived associative algebra, giving a new cohomology on Q-manifolds distinct from the standard cohomology: we refer to this as the derived cyclic cohomology of a Q-manifold. The derived cyclic cocycles are interpreted as classically BRST-invariant functionals within the BV–BFV–BRST formalism or generalised Ruelle–Sullivan currents when applied to regular foliations via their foliation Lie algebroids.

As in the classical case, we show that the multiple zeta function defines an algebra homomorphism from the quasi-shuffle algebra to the $\lambda$-ring. We also prove a formula for multiple polylogarithms in $\lambda$-rings, similar to the iterated integral expression in the classical case.
