For $X\in\{\mathbb{N},\mathbb{Z}\}$, let $\alpha_X(\ell)$ and $\beta_X(\ell)$ denote the supremal upper and lower densities of subsets of $X$ admitting $\omega$-permutations without monotone $\ell$-term arithmetic progressions. We strengthen the published lower bounds for the three-term upper-density parameters by proving \[ \alpha_{\mathbb{N}}(3)\geq\frac23,\qquad \alpha_{\mathbb{Z}}(3)\geq\frac23. \] We also prove $\beta_{\mathbb{Z}}(4)=1$ by constructing four-permutable subsets of the integers whose lower symmetric densities approach one.

Tame fundamental groups of rigid spaces
We introduce the tame étale fundamental group $\pi_1^t(X/K)$ of a rigid space X over a non-archimedean field K. We show that if X is qcqs and K has topologically finitely generated tame Galois group (e.g. algebraically closed or a local field), then $\pi_1^t(X/K)$ is topologically finitely generated. If X is moreover the rigid generic fibre of a strictly semistable formal scheme such that the smooth locus of its special fibre admits a projective snc compactification, then $\pi_1^t(X/K)$ is topologically finitely presented. The proofs rely on techniques of logarithmic geometry (extended beyond its usual scope of finitely generated monoids), in particular on an analogous finiteness statement for the tame log étale fundamental group, and on the 'vertical compactification' of a map of adic spaces.

Special Values of Shifted Dirichlet Series from an Adjoint Map on Almost Holomorphic Modular Forms
We find the adjoint of a map on the space of almost holomorphic modular forms, analogous to the generalized Ramanujan-Serre derivative on the space of quasi-modular forms. As applications, we explicitly find special values of certain shifted Dirichlet series associated to quasi-modular forms and prove a rationality result for the shifted Dirichlet series.

Near optimal three-fold additive energy bound for points on convex curves
Let $X\subset\mathbb{R}$ be finite and let $\gamma(t)=(t,f(t))$, where $f$ is strictly convex. We show that \[ J_3(\gamma(X)) =\#\{(x_1,\ldots,x_6)\in X^6:\sum_{i=1}^3\gamma(x_i)=\sum_{i=4}^6\gamma(x_i)\} \ll_{\epsilon}|X|^{3+\epsilon}. \] When specialized to the parabola, our result implies near-optimal estimates for the number of solutions to the diameter-free quadratic Vinogradov system. As a second application, we settle a conjecture from Krishnapur-Kurlberg-Wigman and Bombieri-Bourgain concerning lattice points on dilates of the unit circle. As a third application, we prove that $|A-A|\gg_\epsilon|A|^{5/3-\epsilon}$ and $|A+A|\gg_\epsilon|A|^{8/5-\epsilon}$ for any finite convex sequence $A\subset \mathbb{R}$.

A Multiplicative Fourier Proof of the Length-Four Index Conjecture
Let $C_n$ be a cyclic group of order $n$. We prove that if $(n,6)=1$, then every minimal zero-sum sequence of length four over $C_n$ has index one, thereby resolving the length-four index conjecture. After the gcd reduction, the nonunit case follows from the theorem of Shen-Xia-Li, and the remaining unit case is solved by a new multiplicative Fourier argument. The index-two residue identity yields a character-moment relation, and the odd characters with vanishing first moment form an exceptional spectrum of size at most $157\varphi(n)/1440<\varphi(n)/9$. A finite-group uncertainty principle then forces the four-term multiset to be invariant under negation, contradicting minimality. Apart from standard facts about primitive Dirichlet $L$-functions, the remaining argument is finite and requires neither asymptotic estimates nor computational verification.

Power sums and Siegel-type zero-free regions for L-functions
Let $\pi$ and $\pi'$ be unitary cuspidal automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GL}(n)$ and $\mathrm{GL}(n')$ over a number field $F$. Let $\mathfrak{C}_{\pi}$ be the analytic conductor of $\pi$. We develop a new approach to zero-free regions for $L$-functions via lower bounds for power sums, proving for all $\varepsilon>0$ the existence of ineffective constants $c=c_{n,F,\varepsilon}>0$ and $c'=c'_{n,F,\pi',\varepsilon}>0$ such that the standard $L$-function $L(s,\pi)$ satisfies \[ |L(\sigma+it,\pi)|\geq c(\mathfrak{C}_{\pi}(|t|+3))^{-\varepsilon},\qquad \sigma\geq 1-c(\mathfrak{C}_{\pi}(|t|+3))^{-\varepsilon} \] and the Rankin-Selberg $L$-function $L(s,\pi\times\pi')$ satisfies \[ |L(\sigma+it,\pi\times\pi')|\geq c'(\mathfrak{C}_{\pi}(|t|+3))^{-\varepsilon},\qquad \sigma\geq 1-c'(\mathfrak{C}_{\pi}(|t|+3))^{-\varepsilon}. \] Applications include improvements to the prime number theorems for these $L$-functions and new generalizations of the Brauer-Siegel theorem.

Multiplicator freeness for restricted-ramification Galois groups over global function fields
Let $K$ be a global function field with full constant field $\mathbb{F}_q$, let $T$ be a finite set of finite places, and let $\infty$ be a distinguished place. We study the maximal pro-$\ell$ extension of $K$ which is unramified outside $T$ and in which $\infty$ splits completely. Using factorisation results for $\ell$-primary idele class characters, we prove that its Galois group is multiplicator-free if $\ell \nmid q - 1$ or $T \neq \varnothing$. In particular, if $T \neq \varnothing$, the conclusion holds for every prime $\ell$.

The 196560 auxiliary-function conjecture for the Leech lattice
Cohn and Kumar conjectured in 2009 that there is a radial Schwartz function $g\colon\R^{24}\to\R$ satisfying $g(r)\leq0$ for $r\geq\sqrt6$, $\widehat g(r)\geq0$ for $r\geq0$, $g(2)>0$, and $(\widehat g(0)-g(0))/g(2)=196560$. We construct such functions from the radial Fourier interpolation basis in dimension $24$. If $a_2,b_2$ denote the basis functions dual to value and radial-derivative interpolation at radius $2$, then $g_C=a_2-Cb_2$ has exactly the nodal data needed for Poisson summation over the Leech lattice. The sphere-packing magic function identifies $b_2$ and supplies its strict signs. We prove that the removable quotients $a_2/b_2$ and $\widehat a_2/\widehat b_2$ are bounded on the required half-lines. The noncompact step follows from exact coefficient extraction in the interpolation kernel and an $S$-cusp expansion. Both quotients tend to $(43+240\log2)/15$; for all sufficiently large radii they lie on opposite sides of this limit, with an explicit first exponential correction. Consequently the admissible parameters in this affine family form a nonempty closed ray, and every member proves the conjectured identity. The same interpolation basis recovers every nontrivial Leech-shell coefficient.

Duality formulas for $\widehat{\mathcal{Q}}$-multiple zeta values
In this paper, we introduce two duality formulas for $\widehat{\mathcal{Q}}$-multiple zeta values ($\widehat{\mathcal{Q}}$-MZVs for short) which are defined by Takeyama and Tasaka. Since taking two different limits of $\widehat{\mathcal{Q}}$-MZV recovers the $\boldsymbol{p}$-adic multiple zeta value and the $t$-adic multiple zeta value respectively, finding the relation of $\widehat{\mathcal{Q}}$-MZVs partially supports the Kaneko–Zagier conjecture and its refined version. Currently, three types of duality formulas for the $\boldsymbol{p}$-adic multiple zeta values are known, and for one of them, the $q$-analogue was studied by Takeyama and Tasaka. We present $q$-analogues of the remaining two duality formulas for the $\boldsymbol{p}$-adic multiple zeta values.

Hasse-Witt invariants for trace forms of Jacobi polynomials
In \cite{feit}, Feit used the Generalized Laguerre Polynomials (GLP) to prove that the groups $\widetilde{A}_{5}$ and $\widetilde{A}_{7}$ occur as Galois groups over $\Q$. Hajir, in \cite{hajir} extended these results to prove that $\widetilde{A}_{n}$ is Galois over $\Q$ whenever $n \equiv 1 \pmod{8}$. A key ingredient of both proofs is the explicit determination of the Hasse-Witt invariant of (the diagonalization of) the trace form of the root fields of the GLP, which relies on the calculation of a certain determinant, $\Delta_t$. The explicit formula for $\Delta_t$ used in \cite{feit} and \cite{hajir} was derived using properties specific to the GLP which do not generalize to other polynomials. In this paper we revisit Feit's original calculation of $\Delta_t$ and situate it in the context of Hankel determinants. We give an alternate derivation of $\Delta_t$ using standard combinatorial arguments and then apply these results to the Jacobi polynomials, a two-parameter family of orthogonal polynomials encompassing the GLP as a special case. We compute an explicit formula for the $\Delta_t$ of the Jacobi polynomials as well as the associated Hasse-Witt invariant. The techniques used in this paper are not specific to the Jacobi polynomials and are widely applicable.

A $p$-part Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer Formula over Totally Imaginary Quadratic Extension of Totally Real Fields
This article studies a modular semistable elliptic curve $E$ over a totally real number field $F$ such that, upon base change to a totally imaginary quadratic extension $K$, it has analytic rank one. Assuming the Iwasawa main conjecture, along with a substantial number of assumptions, we prove a variant of the $p$-part of the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer formula over $K$, where $p$ is an odd prime. More precisely, up to a $p$-adic unit, we have $$ \frac{L'(E/K,1)}{\Omega^{\mathrm{cong}}_{\mathbf{f}} \operatorname{Reg}(E/K)} = \# Sha(E/K)[p^\infty]\prod_{u} c_u(E/K), $$ where $\Omega^{\mathrm{cong}}_{\mathbf{f}}$ is the congruence period of the Hilbert modular form $\mathbf{f}$ associated to $E$ via the modularity conjecture.

Height lower bounds for elements of highly composite rings
Let $\mathbb{Q}^{(d)}$ be the composite field of all number fields of degree at most $d$. In 2001 Bombieri and Zannier proved that $\mathbb{Q}^{(2)}$ has the Northcott property and asked what happens for $d\geq 3$. Here we study the absolute Weil height for elements in the composite ring of the rings of integers of such number fields. In particular, we consider $\mathbb{Q}^{(3)}$ as the composite field of $\mathbb{Q}^{(2)}$ and a minimal infinite family of cubic fields, and we show that the composite ring of the rings of integers of these fields does have the Northcott property. Our results follow from new height lower bounds, expressed in terms of the degree. Moreover, we introduce a notion of size for subfields of $\mathbb{Q}^{(3)}$. For instance, $\mathbb{Q}^{(3)}$ has size $1$ and the maximal abelian subfield of $\mathbb{Q}^{(3)}$ has size $1/2$. We show that there is a subfield of $\mathbb{Q}^{(3)}$ of size $1$ which has the Northcott property.

Equalities among simplest quartic fields: a complete classification
For a positive integer $n$, let $f_n(X)=X^4-nX^3-6X^2+nX+1$ and let $K_n=\mathbb{Q}(\rho_n)$, where $\rho_n$ is a root of $f_n$. We determine all coincidences among these fields: for distinct positive integers $m,n$, $K_m=K_n \Longleftrightarrow \{m,n\}\in\{\{1,103\},\{2,22\},\{4,956\}\}$. Thus the three previously known equalities are the only ones. This extends Hoshi's finite-range classification to all positive integral parameters and, in particular, subsumes the uniqueness results of Pincus and Washington. The proof combines Hoshi's correspondence between equal simplest quartic fields and primitive solutions of a quartic Thue equation with estimates of Lettl–Pethő–Voutier for rational approximations to two of its real roots. A Gaussian-integer identity yields a lower bound for the denominator of the resulting rational approximation; the continued-fraction information and the approximation estimates then exclude every parameter exceeding $1000$.

Edit distance exponents for irrational rotations
We study quantitative edit-distance asymptotics for symbolic codings of irrational rotations $x \mapsto x+\alpha$ on $\mathbb{T}$ in terms of the irrationality exponent $\mu(\alpha)$. For the binary coding determined by an interval $[0,\beta)$, let $d_N(x,y)$ be the edit distance between the codings of the orbits of the points $x$ and $y$ up to time $N-1$. For every $\alpha \notin \mathbb{Q}$, almost every $\beta \in (0,1)$, and almost every $x,y \in \mathbb{T}$, we determine the edit-distance exponents $\displaystyle (*) \; \; \limsup_{N\to\infty}\frac{\log d_N(x,y)}{\log N} = \frac{\rho(\alpha)}{\rho(\alpha)+1} \; \;$ and $\; \; \displaystyle\liminf_{N\to\infty}\frac{\log d_N(x,y)}{\log N} = \min\Bigl\{\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{\rho(\alpha)}\Bigr\}$, where $ \rho(\alpha):=\mu(\alpha) - 1$. We find a surprising transition at the golden mean $\varphi= \frac{1+\sqrt{5}}{2}$: If $ \rho(\alpha) \le \varphi$, then both asymptotics in $(*)$ hold for all $\beta$. However, for every finite $\rho>\varphi$, there is an uncountable set of $\alpha$ with $\rho(\alpha)=\rho$ for which both edit-distance exponents are strictly smaller than the corresponding values in $(*)$ for uncountably many $\beta$. We also derive consequences for aperiodic circle homeomorphisms and Sturmian sequences. For rotations of $\mathbb{T}^d$ coded by boxes, we prove that for almost every rotation vector, the common edit-distance exponent is $d/(d+1)$.

A Proof of a Conjecture on Fixed Perimeter Partitions
Finding fixed perimeter analogues of various partition theoretic identities and inequalities has recently emerged as an active area of research. Gray, Payne, Swisher, and Watson [Discrete Math., 2026] established several fixed perimeter analogues of partition theoretic results inspired by Euler's celebrated partition identity. Very recently, in a separate work [\textit{ar{X}iv:2608.00421}, 2026], they explored fixed perimeter analogues of inequalities related to parity biases. Introducing the concept of parity bias, Kim, Kim, and Lovejoy [Eur. J. Comb., 2020] conjectured that $pd_o(n)>pd_e(n)$ for all $n\ge 20$, where $pd_o(n)$ (respectively, $pd_e(n)$) denote the number of partitions of $n$ into distinct parts having more odd parts (respectively, even parts) than even parts (respectively, odd parts). The author, together with Banerjee, Bhattacharjee, Dastidar, and Saikia [Eur. J. Comb., 2022], proved this conjecture. Gray, Payne, Swisher, and Watson conjectured that a fixed perimeter analogue of this inequality holds for all $n\ge 9$. In this paper, we confirm their conjecture.

Galois Symbols for a Jacobian and Multiplicative Groups
Let $C$ be a smooth projective geometrically connected curve over a field $k$ with a $k$-rational point. Let $J$ be the Jacobian variety of $C$. For an integer $r\geq 1$ and a positive integer $n$ prime to the characteristic of $k$, we prove that the Galois symbol map \[ K(k;J,\mathbb{G}_{m},\ldots,\mathbb{G}_{m})/n \to H_{\mathrm{\acute et}}^{r+1}\bigl(k,J[n]\otimes \mu_n^{\otimes r}\bigr) \] is injective, where the multiplicative group $\mathbb{G}_{m}$ occurs $r$ times. The proof uses Akhtar's description of higher Chow groups of zero-cycles and the Beilinson–Lichtenbaum theorem. The case $r=1$ recovers a theorem of Spiess.

Upper bound for the moment of shifted values of cubic $L$-functions over function fields
In this paper, we study correlations of shifted values of cubic $L$-functions over function fields and derive an upper bound for moments of these shifted values in the limit where the genus of the corresponding cubic characters tends to infinity over a fixed finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$. Our results apply to the non-Kummer case when $q \equiv 2 \pmod{3}$. The Kummer case, when $q \equiv 1 \pmod{3}$, can be treated similarly.

Finding all cospectral mates over a number field
We investigate a notion of cospectrality for integer matrices that is parameterized by algebraic number fields. Given a number field and a symmetric integer matrix, we wonder when conjugating the integer matrix by an orthogonal matrix with entries in the given field can produce new integer matrices. Our results concern sufficient conditions for the associated notion of spectral determination, and we give constraints on the orthogonal matrices when the conditions are not applicable. The results use the discriminant of the characteristic polynomial and properties of Krylov subspaces. We leverage the theory to develop an algorithm to find all cospectral mates over a given (small) field. An implementation of the algorithm is made available.

The Five Distance Theorem For An Arbitrary Norm
The three gap theorem states that the points of the Kronecker sequence $\alpha,2\alpha,\ldots,N\alpha$, considered modulo one, divide the circle into intervals of at most three distinct lengths. In a two-dimensional nearest-neighbour analogue, Haynes and Marklof proved that the Kronecker sequence modulo an arbitrary unimodular lattice determines at most five distinct nearest-neighbour distances in the Euclidean norm, and that this bound is sharp. Dettmann subsequently constructed examples attaining five distinct distances for every $\ell_p$-norm, $1\leq p\leq\infty$. We prove the corresponding upper bound for every norm on $\mathbb R^2$: for every full-rank lattice $L$, every $\alpha\in\mathbb R^2$, and every $N\in\mathbb N$, the number of distinct nearest-neighbour distances is at most five. For every norm, this bound is attained for some $L$ and $\alpha$. For strictly convex norms, the proof extends the lattice-theoretic argument of Haynes and Marklof by replacing the Euclidean angular estimates with a cone lemma based on a proper Brass angular measure. The result for arbitrary norms is then obtained by a strictly convex perturbation and a limiting argument.

The motivic Selmer scheme of the thrice-punctured line
Let $X = \mathbb{P}^1 \smallsetminus \{0,1,\infty\}$ be the thrice-punctured over a ring of $S$-integers $\mathcal{O}_{K,S}$ in a number field~$K$. For any quotient $\pi_1^{\mathrm{mot}}(X,0) \twoheadrightarrow \Pi$ of Deligne–Goncharov's motivic fundamental group there is an associated Selmer scheme which parametrises $\Pi$-torsors with a mixed Tate motive structure. We give several descriptions of the motivic Selmer scheme which make it amenable to computations, using $\mathbb{G}_m$-equivariant cocycles of algebraic groups, Lie algebras, and complete Hopf algebras. We prove that the Selmer scheme is isomorphic to an affine space $\mathbb{A}^N_{\mathbb{Q}}$, and we construct coordinates realising this isomorphism. This is a key ingredient for making the motivic Chabauty–Kim method explicit in a general setting, without restrictions on the base field or the choice of fundamental group quotient.

Visible Measures along $\Omega(n)$ and Distribution of Horocycle Orbits
Let $\Omega(n)$ denote the number of prime factors of $n$, counted with multiplicities. We study the set $Acc^\Omega(x)$ of weak-$^*$ limits of the sequence $\frac{1}{N}\sum_{n\leq N}\delta_{T^{\Omega(n)}x}$ in $\sigma$-compact dynamical systems $ (X,T)$, demonstrating that if $x \in X$ is quasi-generic for an ergodic measure $\mu$, then $\mu \in Acc^\Omega(x)$. This extends a result of Bergelson and Richter, who studied the problem in the setting of uniquely ergodic systems. We give a more precise description of the set $Acc^\Omega(x)$ in the case of the horocycle flow on non-compact quotients of $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$. We show that for every non-periodic $x\in X$, in addition to Haar measure, there exists sequences $(s_n), (c_n) \subseteq \mathbb{R}$ such that $$ \frac{1}{\sqrt{2\pi}}\int_{-\infty}^{\infty}e^{-\frac{r^2}{2}}\nu^{i}_{s_n-2\log|1+c_nr|} dr\in Acc^{\Omega}(x), $$ where $\{ \nu^{i}_{s} \}_{i \leq k}$ denotes the one parameter family of periodic measures in each of the $k$ inequivalent cusps. Depending on Diophantine properties of the non-periodic point $x$, we show that $Acc^\Omega(x)$ contains a full two parameter family of such periodic measures, as well as the Dirac measure at each cusp. In particular, these results yield almost-everywhere divergence of pointwise averages along $\Omega(n)$ for the non-compact horocycle flow.

On The Spectral Properties of Discrete Landscape Functions
We study the landscape function on a discretized interval. The discrete landscape has an explicit closed form, and its spectral coefficients can be computed exactly. We show that these coefficients lie in explicit abelian extensions of $\mathbb{Q}$, and obtain the bound $[\mathbb{Q}(c_k(N)):\mathbb{Q}]\leq\varphi(N)$ for every odd $k$. For the first coefficient, exact computation for $3\leq N\leq 30$ gives the full degree $\varphi(N)$ in every case, motivating the Chandra–Jain conjecture that $[\mathbb{Q}(c_1(N)):\mathbb{Q}]=\varphi(N)$ for all $N\geq 3$. We then reduce the higher modes to the coprime case and discuss the remaining degree question. We also discuss connections with parity, the Arnold cat map, and Lefschetz numbers. The Chandra–Jain conjecture has since been proved by Q. Zhou (Zenodo, doi:10.5281/zenodo.21935814).

Equationless quadratic Chabauty for non-split Cartan modular curves
The aim of this article is to describe an equationless method for determining the rational points on the non-split Cartan curve $X_{\rm{ns}}^+(N)$ of prime level $N \geqslant 13$. Instead of using a projective model for the modular curve, our method uses the moduli interpretation of the curve, namely we work directly with elliptic curves and Cartan level structures. To accomplish this, we use the geometric version of the quadratic Chabauty method. We show that this can be combined with algorithms for divisor arithmetic developed by Makdisi and Mascot so as to apply to modular curves. As an illustration, we rederive the set of rational points on the curve $X_{\rm{ns}}^+(13)$.

A canonical construction of signed $p$-adic $L$-functions for non-ordinary modular forms of weight $\leq p+1$
Fix an odd prime $p$ and let $f$ be a $p$-non-ordinary cuspidal eigen-newform of weight $2\leq k\leq p+1$. We construct a pair of bounded $p$-adic $L$-functions associated to $f$ by decomposing the unbounded $p$-adic $L$-functions in terms of an explicit logarithm-type matrix whose definition does not require $p$-adic Hodge theory. Using this decomposition, we compute asymptotic formulas for the Iwasawa invariants of Mazur–Tate elements attached to non-ordinary forms of weight $\leq p+1$. As a corollary, we obtain a relation between the signed Iwasawa invariants of $p$-non-ordinary and $p$-congruent cuspforms of weights 2 and $p+1$, generalizing previous results in the $a_p=0$ case.

Bockstein Spectral Sequences and Applications to the Tame Fontaine Mazur Conjecture
For a number field $K$, a prime $p$ and a finite set of tame places $S$ we consider the groups $G_{K,S}$ - the Galois groups of the maximal pro-$p$ extension of $K$ unramified outside $S$. The tame Fontaine–Mazur Conjecture predicts that these groups have no nontrivial uniformly powerful pro-$p$ quotients. In this paper we develop a new approach to this problem using Bockstein spectral sequences and Lie-theoretic tools. This allows us to extend and refine an earlier method due to J.~Labute, who was only able to consider the case where $p^2\nmid N(\mathfrak{q})-1$ for each $\mathfrak{q}\in S$. Based on this we develop a method to verify the uniform Fontaine–Mazur property for many $G_{K,S}$ with $|S|=3$ arbitrary. Under mild conditions on $K$ we show that for infinitely many triples $S$, the groups $G_{K,S}$ have no nontrivial uniform quotients. We also exhibit a large class of these groups, which are infinite. Finally, we present numerical evidence indicating that the criteria developed here detect the uniform Fontaine–Mazur property with very high probability for $|S|=3$.
