A Fejér–Riesz inequality for Dirichlet series

We prove the following inequality for Dirichlet polynomials: \[ \int_0^1 |f(1/2+\sigma)|\,d\sigma\lesssim \lim_{T\to\infty} \frac{1}{2T} \int_{-T}^T |f(it)| \, dt. \] In particular, for a Dirichlet series $f(s) = \sum_{n\geq 1} a_n n^{-s}$ belonging to the Hardy space $\mathscr{H}^1$ of Dirichlet series, \[ \left|a_1+\sum_{n=2}^\infty \frac{a_n}{\sqrt n\log n}\right| \lesssim \|f\|_{\mathscr{H}^1}. \] This answers a question raised previously in the literature and it proves that the multiplicative Hilbert matrix has a bounded symbol.

Projective embedding of degenerating family of Kähler-Einstein manifolds with normal crossing limit

We study the Bergman embeddings of degenerating families of Kähler-Einstein manifolds of negative curvature. We show that when the central fiber has only simple normal crossing singularities, we can construct orthonormal bases so that the induced Bergman embeddings converge to the Bergman embedding of the limit space together with multi-bubbles.

Infinite chains of perfect fits for expanding Thurston maps

The topological mating of two postcritically finite polynomials with dendritic Julia sets is encoded by a pair of circle laminations $\Lambda^{\pm}$, whose collapse produces a sphere-filling curve. When a leaf of $\Lambda^{+}$ and a leaf of $\Lambda^{-}$ share an endpoint they form a perfect fit. An unpublished proposition of Epstein, recorded by Petersen and Meyer, shows that for matings of honest degree-$d$ polynomials an infinite-diameter ray equivalence class, i.e. an infinite chain of perfect fits is impossible. We show that this finiteness is a genuinely holomorphic phenomenon. Allowing the dynamics to carry a periodic critical orbit, we construct combinatorially expanding Thurston maps-realized by no expanding rational map-that admit invariant sphere-filling curves yet whose laminations $\Lambda^{\pm}$ contain infinite chains of perfect fits, in fact infinitely many of them.

Canonical Bochner-Kähler potentials via the Sasaki-Kähler correspondence

We introduce a new approach to the study of Bochner-Kähler manifolds, based on normal form techniques in CR geometry. As observed by Webster, Bochner-Kähler manifolds are intimately related to spherical Sasakian manifolds. Our approach utilises this relationship as well as normal forms for spherical Sasakian manifolds (known as rigid spheres). In this setting potentials of Bochner-Kähler manifolds are nothing but the defining equations of rigid spheres in rigid normal form. This leads to a canonical formula for Bochner-Kähler potentials, as well as streamlined proofs of known results on the structure and the symmetries of Bochner-Kähler manifolds. Our approach also provides a host of examples in terms of an implicit formula of the corresponding Kähler potentials.

Dynamical (non-)recurrence of escaping exponential maps

We show that exponential maps could have complicated measurable behaviours by giving two examples in the exponential family both with singular value escaping to infinity “slowly", one of which is recurrent (in the sense that every positive measure set will return to itself infinitely many times), while the other is non-recurrent. This also complements earlier results of Lyubich, Rees, Urbański-Zdunik, and Hemke. We also give an example of exponential maps with singular value escaping to infinity arbitrarily slow, which is a parametric analog of a result of Rempe.

Hyperpositive functions, sector bounded functions and a trace formula

We study an indexed family of functions closely related to functions ana- lytic and with a real positive part in the right open half plane (the so-called positive functions) and to the functions analytic in the right open half-plane and bounded in modulus by one there (the so-called bounded functions). These two families are related by the Cayley transform. In the present paper we introduce an affine linear relation- ship between a subclass of positive functions and the family of bounded functions, and study the corresponding connections with passivity of linear systems, interpolation and operator models. This is therefore a multidisciplinary paper, with potential readers from engineering, linear system theory and operator theory, and some repetitions of known results are given to allow various audiences to read the work. Reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces of analytic functions are a key tool in the arguments. A special role is played by the de Branges-Rovnyak spaces associated to bounded functions, and we prove a related trace formula connecting an underlying pair of operators.

Quantitatively hyper-positive real rational functions IV: The canonical case

In the linear time-invariant framework, passive systems are modeled by positive real functions. Dissipative systems can be modeled by the subset of quantita- tively Hyper-positive real functions, related through nested inclusions. This family was introduced and studied in our three previous works. Here, we further focus our attention on the proper subset of canonical Hyper-Positive functions. Although this family is "small", its exploration is well motivated: First, this set turns to be associated with absolute stability (the Lurie problem). Then, a systematic parametrization of all canonical Hyper-Positive functions is introduced. Moreover each canonical Hyper-Positive function can be viewed as an extreme point of the convex set of Hyper-Positive functions. Specifically a convex combination of canonical Hyper-Positive is Hyper-Positive, but not canonical. These observations hold in both frameworks: of analytic functions and of state-space realization arrays. Technically, some of the analysis is facilitated by employing Quadratic Matrix Inclusions of both, matrices and of matrix-valued rational functions.

A Hopf Lemma for Holomorphic Maps into Hyperquadrics

More than twenty years ago, Baouendi and the first author proved that a holomorphic map between hyperquadrics of the same signature is either totally degenerate or has a nonvanishing normal derivative for its normal component. This established a CR analogue of the classical Hopf lemma in arbitrary codimension, in the absence of pseudoconvexity. They further conjectured that the same Hopf-type property holds for holomorphic maps between Levi-nondegenerate hypersurfaces of the same signature. In this paper, we provide a counterexample to this conjecture in full generality. We also prove the conjecture when the target hypersurface is a hyperquadric of any codimension, arguably the most important case for applications.

Nonuniqueness of Model Potentials and Weak Geodesic Rays

We establish two nonuniqueness phenomena on $\mathbb{CP}^1$. First, distinct normalized positive-mass model potentials can have the same non-pluripolar Monge–Ampère measure. By the contact-set formula, their zero-contact sets agree $\omega_{\mathrm{FS}}$-almost everywhere. Moreover, both have zero Lelong number at every point and identical multiplier ideal sheaves at every positive scale. Second, we construct distinct maximal test curves whose zero-contact sets agree pointwise at every parameter. Their inverse Legendre transforms are distinct bounded weak geodesic rays from zero with the same pointwise right initial tangent.

Weighted Cesàro type operators on the weighted Bergman spaces in the unit ball

In this paper, we study weighted Cesàro type operators \[ \mathcal C_{\mu,\beta}^{\xi}:A_{\alpha}^{p}(\mathbb B_n) \longrightarrow A_{\alpha}^{q}(\mathbb B_n) \] induced by measures on $[0,1)$, and obtain boundedness characterizations throughout the range $0<p,q\le\infty$. We first extend the corresponding results on the unit disk to the unit ball in the range $1\le p\le q<\infty$. By means of atomic decomposition, we further treat the case $0<p<1$ and $p\le q<\infty$, thereby obtaining a complete characterization for $0<p\le q<\infty$. The latter result is new even in one dimension. For the range $0<q<p\le\infty$, we characterize the boundedness in terms of an integral condition involving the tail function of the inducing measure. This result is also new even on the unit disk. Finally, we characterize the boundedness of the corresponding operators when the target space is $H^\infty(\mathbb B_n)$.

A Smooth Counterexample to the Trautman Conjecture

The Trautman conjecture asserted that a smooth three-dimensional CR manifold admitting a nowhere-zero closed section of its canonical bundle must be locally embeddable in $\mathbb{C}^2$. We modify a standard construction of nonembeddable smooth strongly pseudoconvex CR 3-manifolds so that the condition of having a nowhere-zero closed section of the canonical bundle is preserved, thus providing a strongly pseudoconvex counterexample to the Trautman conjecture.

A new proof that more than $2/3$ of the zeros of the Riemann zeta function are simple and on the critical line

We obtain a new, conceptually simpler, unconditional proof that more than $67.25\%$ of the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function are simple and on the critical line, and that at least $83.62\%$ of the non-trivial zeros are distinct. Our approach also yields two new unconditional estimates on simple zeros and zeros on the critical line. More precisely, we prove that the proportion of zeros that are simple or lie on the critical line (or both) is at least $88.76\%$, and that the average of the proportions of simple zeros and of zeros on the critical line is at least $83.62\%$. A proof of the bounds for simple zeros on the critical line and for distinct zeros was very recently produced by an internal research version of Claude developed by Anthropic and subsequently verified by two mathematicians at Anthropic, Levent Alpöge and Ralph Furman, whereas our two additional estimates are neither stated nor proved in the Claude paper. The argument produced by Claude is technically intricate, and its main mechanism is not immediately transparent. It combines several ingredients from linear algebra, including a finite-dimensional matrix representation of Weil's Hermitian form and a rank–trace inequality for Hermitian matrices, with a second moment calculation over the zeros using the explicit formula. Our new approach proceeds by replacing the entire finite-dimensional matrix framework by a single Hilbert space inequality, which allows for a direct application of Montgomery's theorem on the pair correlation of zeros of the zeta function, in the unconditional form obtained by Baluyot, Goldston, Suriajaya and Turnage-Butterbaugh.

Quasiconformal folding - a review of `Models for the Eremenko-Lyubich class'

We review the paper `Models for the Eremenko–Lyubich class' by Chris Bishop, which appeared in the Journal of the London Mathematical Society in 2015, the first of two LMS papers for which Bishop received the LMS Senior Berwick Prize in 2024. This is one of a series of papers where Bishop introduced his new technique of quasiconformal folding, which transformed the range of approaches to constructing examples of transcendental entire functions leading to the resolution of many open problems, in particular in transcendental dynamics.

Mathematical Koans and Cartan Convexity: $\Gamma$-Convex Hulls and Butterfly Realizations

In homage to Hofstadter, we call a compact, citable specification of definitions, theorem, proof mechanism, and examples a mathematical koan when a full paper can be reconstructed and verified from it, including in reader-specific forms generated by AI. Every AI-solvable problem is itself a koan, although reconstruction need not be cheap; the present article is an expansion of one. We introduce Cartan convexity for self-adjoint free functions: locally, such a function agrees with a locally bounded matrix-convex free function. If the variable set has cardinality $\tau$ and $\lambda=\max\{\tau,\aleph_0\}$, every bounded real free set has a universal direct sum on a Hilbert space of dimension at most $2^\lambda$; every point of the set is a reducing summand of an amplification of this sum. Applying the noncommutative Kraus–butterfly theorem at that universal point yields an extension to an open matrix-convex neighborhood of the noncommutative convex hull. For normal affine pencils, the extension domain also contains the bounded strong closure of the hull. We prove an analogous theorem for a graph embedding $\Gamma$. A local convex lift through $\Gamma$ extends to a neighborhood of $\Gamma^{-1}(\operatorname{co}_{\mathrm{nc}}\Gamma(K))$ and admits a butterfly realization in the $\Gamma$-coordinates. We distinguish this lift condition from intrinsic $\Gamma$-convexity. For $\Gamma(x,y)=(x,y,y^2)$, the intrinsically $\Gamma$-affine polynomial $xy+yx$ has no convex lift germ at the origin, whereas a single quadratic coordinate suffices to lift every uniformly real analytic germ.

Energy asymptotics of holomorphic functions with application to Calderón-Zygmund theory in $\mathbb{C}$

The Calderón-Zygmund theory establishes the boundedness of singular integral operators on $L^p$ spaces for $1 < p < \infty$, yet it encounters a failure at the endpoint $p = 1$. While radial counterexamples in $\mathbb{R}^n$ are well-documented, Pan-Shao-Wang-Wu \cite{psww2026} has showed that every nonconstant holomorphic function provides a counterexample to the Poisson equation within the Calderón-Zygmund framework, with the singular locus being a complex subvariety of codimension one. In this paper, we focus on the complex one-dimensional case and establish stronger results. We prove asymptotic formulas with explicit constants for both the level-set integral and the sublevel-set energy. Then we give simplified proofs of the universal counterexamples to Calderón-Zygmund theory at $p = 1$ in $\mathbb{C}$. Additionally, we construct a new family of counterexamples at the endpoint $p = \infty$, showing that the failure of $W^{2,\infty}$-regularity is also a universal phenomenon in complex one dimension.

Prescribed Lelong Numbers for One-Pole Green Functions on Complex Projective Space

Let $\omega_{\mathrm{FS}}$ be the normalized Fubini–Study form on $\mathbf P^n$, with $n\geq2$. We prove that the one-pole Lelong-number range in $DMA(\mathbf P^n,\omega_{\mathrm{FS}})$ is exactly $[0,1]$: for every $\lambda$ in this interval there is a Green function with a single pole, Monge–Ampère measure equal to the Dirac mass at that pole, and Lelong number $\lambda$. This answers Question~9 in the survey of Dinew–Guedj–Zeriahi, where the problem is attributed to Coman and Guedj. The construction adapts Li and Xia's local zero-Lelong-number scheme through variable degrees and homogeneous finite stages, while also establishing the exact Lelong number and membership in the global $DMA$ class. We then study the relation between the one-pole range $\mathcal R_\alpha(x)$ and the Seshadri interval $[0,\varepsilon(\alpha,x)]$. An application of Koike's equivalence theorem gives a point on a degree-one del Pezzo surface where the Seshadri endpoint is not attained. Conversely, a finite-pullback criterion and an explicit finite morphism show that every ample rational class on a product of projective spaces realizes its full Seshadri interval at every point.

The Discrete Harmonic Center of a Quadrilateral

Triangulate a simple quadrilateral by connecting all vertices to an additional point. If the vertices carry values, the piecewise linear function can be assigned a Dirichlet energy. We show that the minimal Dirichlet energy as a function of the location of the inserted point is convex, and the location of the minimum is independent of the values at the corners - a quadrilateral has a discrete harmonic center, characterized by an equilibrium of currents across the inserted edges. It turns out that the fixed points of the Möbius involution swapping opposite corners of the quadrilateral are critical points of this energy, so the discrete harmonic center is Möbius-covariant. For tangential and cyclic quadrilaterals the center admits simple closed forms related to the circle centers. The center and its data-independence generalize to polytopes with d + 2 vertices in dimension d, but the conformal characterizations are special to four points in the plane.

Deformations of Compact Calabi–Yau and Fano Varieties with Isolated Singularities

Let $X$ be a compact log-canonical Kähler $n$-fold, $n\ge3,$ with trivial canonical sheaf and with isolated singularities. We prove that the generic fibres of a semi-universal deformation of $X$ have Du Bois invariant $b^{1,n-2}=0$ at the singular points. Under a certain topological hypothesis on $X$ the generic fibres have also link invariant $l^{1,n-2}=0.$ If $X$ is a projective log-canonical $n$-fold, $n\ge3,$ with ample anti-canonical sheaf and with isolated singularities then the generic fibres have $b^{1,n-2}=l^{1,n-2}=0$ (without the topological hypothesis). These are generalizations of recent results of Tenie `Global smoothing of singular Fano and Calabi–Yau varieties' and an older result of Namikawa `Deformation theory of Calabi–Yau threefolds and certain invariants of singularities.'

Universal Beta Incidence Angles: Cauchy Rigidity and Infinite Arrangements

Let $U$ be Haar-uniform on $\mathbb S^{p-1}$, let $a_1,\ldots,a_k$ be arbitrary nonzero vectors, and let $w_1,\ldots,w_k$ be simplex weights. Define \[ g(U)=\sum_{j=1}^k w_j\frac{a_j}{a_j^\top U}, \qquad N(U)=\frac{g(U)}{\|g(U)\|}. \] We prove the universal incidence law \[ \{U^\top N(U)\}^2\sim\operatorname{Beta}\!\left(\frac12,\frac{p-1}{2}\right), \] independently of the number, arrangement, rank, or overcompleteness of the directions and of the weights. Thus a deterministic, generally non-Haar function of $U$ has the same squared-cosine law as an independent Haar direction. One proof combines a Herglotz–Cauchy boundary principle, a Haar-random two-plane with one common phase, and an exact Beta–Cauchy tangent-projection equivalence. A second proof specializes the positive-semidefinite Pillai–Meng identity. The planar structure leads to converses: plane-conditional Cauchy laws recover positivity, while for signed measures an exact phase-cancellation deficit equals twice the hidden negative mass. This yields local-to-global rigidity under a phase-norming condition strictly weaker than injectivity and an unconditional exclusion of negative atoms. The law extends to probability measures under almost-sure reciprocal integrability. We characterize this condition by an exact Wiener–Dini belt series, prove finite Shannon entropy to be the sharp universal criterion for countable weights, and give an entropy–geometry extension for clustered measures. Every compact carrier of zero one-dimensional Hausdorff measure is admissible, whereas a nonzero rectifiable arc component forces divergence on a set of positive Haar measure. In orthogonal coordinates, the theorem also gives a weight-free scaled $F$ law for Pearson divergence from a fixed simplex vector to a $\operatorname{Dirichlet}(1/2,\ldots,1/2)$ vector.

On a construction of hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles

With any holomorphic vector bundle $E$ over a compact base one can associate a line bundle, denoted $O_{PE}(1)$. According to a conjecture of Griffiths, if $O_{PE}(1)$ admits a positively curved hermitian metric $k$, then $E$ also admits a positively curved hermitian metric, $h$. In this paper we show that, while the conjecture may be correct, it is not possible to obtain $h$ out of $k$ by a fiberwise construction that is functorial.

A Full Characterization of the Dirichlet Carleson embedding $\operatorname{id}: \mathcal D_{p-1}^p \to L^p(\mu)$ for $p>2$

In this paper, we obtain a full characterization of the finite positive Borel measures $\mu$ on $\mathbb D$ for which the embedding $$ \operatorname{id}:\mathcal D_{p-1}^p\longrightarrow L^p(\mu),\qquad p>2, $$ is bounded. More precisely, for any dyadic system $\mathcal D$ on $\mathbb T$, we prove that this embedding is bounded if and only if $$ \mathcal C_{p,\mathcal D}(\mu)+\mathcal H_{p,\mathcal D}(\mu)<\infty, $$ where $\mathcal C_{p,\mathcal D}(\mu)$ and $\mathcal H_{p,\mathcal D}(\mu)$ denote the packing energy and the Haar energy of $\mu$, respectively. This resolves a longstanding characterization problem in the theory of Dirichlet-type spaces that arose from Wu's 1999 conjecture, corresponds to the endpoint case not covered by the work of Arcozzi, Rochberg, and Sawyer in 2002, and remained open after the works of Girela and Peláez in 2006 and Galanopoulos, Girela, and Peláez in 2011. We also construct finite measures showing that the two energy conditions are genuinely distinct. The key ingredient in the proof is a reduction of the Dirichlet embedding to a dyadic Whitney embedding, which allows us to combine weighted Hardy inequalities on trees with probabilistic arguments.

On the Riemann Boundary Value Problem for Poly- and Meta-hyperanalytic Function Spaces over d-summable Curves

Hyperanalytic functions, in the sense established by the mathematician Avron Douglis, are Douglis algebra-valued functions defined via a hypercomplex structure rather than the standard Cauchy-Riemann equations characteristic of traditional complex analysis. The classes of polyhyperanalytic and meta-hyperanalytic functions represent advanced generalizations of Douglis's analysis. They are employed in the study of partial differential equations and elasticity, extending the concept of the classical holomorphic function through higher-order iterations and non-homogeneous terms. The aim of this work is to find solvability conditions for a fundamental Riemann-type boundary value problem for spaces of poly-hyperanalytic and meta-hyperanalytic functions defined on an open, bounded, simply connected subset of the complex plane, where the boundary need only be a closed d-summable curve. In fractal geometry, d-summability is a geometric property used to define the boundaries of fractal domains, enabling advanced mathematical integration and calculus on complex structures defined by Jenny Harrison and Alec Norton.

Schwarzian norm estimates for some classes of analytic and harmonic mappings

Let $\mathcal{A}$ be the normalized class of analytic functions $f$ in the unit disc $\mathbb{D} := \{z \in \mathbb{C} : \vert{}z\vert{} < 1\}$. For $\beta > 1$, let $\mathcal{N}(\beta)$ denote the subclass of $\mathcal{A}$ satisfying $\text{Re}\{1 + z f''(z)/f'(z)\} < \beta$ for $z \in \mathbb{D}$. The main purpose of this paper is to establish sharp bounds for the pre-Schwarzian norm $\Vert{}P_f\Vert{}$ and Schwarzian norm $\Vert{}S_f\Vert{}$ for functions $f \in \mathcal{N}(\beta)$, parametrized by $f''(0)$, with special emphasis on the case $f''(0) = 0$. In addition, sharp growth, distortion, and radius results (convexity and concavity) for $\mathcal{N}(\beta)$ are obtained. As an application, we determine the sharp pre-Schwarzian norm estimate for harmonic mappings $f = h + \bar{g}$ whose analytic part $h$ belongs to $\mathcal{N}(\beta)$.
