Future Completeness, $C^0$-Inextendibility and Cauchy Horizons in Homogeneous Einstein Spacetimes

We prove the future-completeness conjecture of Gödeke and Rendall for expanding spatially homogeneous vacuum spacetimes in four spatial dimensions. More generally, an expansion-energy estimate gives future timelike and null geodesic completeness for homogeneous Einstein equations coupled to maps into complete Riemannian targets, through nine spatial dimensions for vanishing potential. In arbitrary dimension we obtain an affine-length criterion which includes positive potential floors and potentials that decay sufficiently slowly along the scalar trajectory. For future-global homogeneous solutions, the critical nine-dimensional bound also holds for a general stress tensor in an explicit normal energy-condition window, including a broad range of perfect fluids. At the opposite time end, we establish a quotient-stable $C^0$-inextendibility criterion for two-step nilpotent cosmologies. Its proof combines boundary localization with an optimal, intrinsically defined allocation of the central correction in timelike homotopies, and continues to apply when the diameter of compact spatial slices collapses. Exact Heisenberg solutions realize both conclusions. On every fixed compact Bianchi~II quotient, the expanding invariant vacuum data split into an open dense set with globally $C^0$-inextendible developments and a codimension-two locally rotationally symmetric locus with analytic compact Cauchy horizons. We determine the chronology-violating region of the exceptional extensions and quantify the exponentially small proper-time scale on which transverse anisotropy replaces the horizon by a singular end.

Reggeization of quarks from next-to-eikonal high-energy QCD

We develop a comprehensive Wilson-line formulation of quark Reggeization in QCD. Starting from a next-to-eikonal operator built from a semi-infinite Wilson line and a background-quark insertion, we identify an interpolating operator for the Reggeized quark and derive its nonlinear rapidity evolution using the background-field method. In the dilute regime, its positive-signature component exhibits Regge-pole evolution governed by the quark Regge trajectory, whereas the negative-signature sector displays mixing between quark and gluon degrees of freedom, in accordance with its known Regge-cut structure. In the planar limit, this mixing is suppressed, and Reggeization emerges without an explicit signature projection, recovering signature degeneracy. We illustrate the universality of the construction by extracting the same Reggeized-quark operator from a more general Wilson-line operator describing a gluon-to-quark transition. Furthermore, we extend the formalism to massive quarks, deriving a coordinate-space evolution kernel whose Fourier transform reproduces the massive-quark Regge trajectory. Finally, from the leading operator-mixing structure of the evolution equation and signature arguments, we show that the Reggeized-quark interpolating operator is expected to remain an eigenstate of the rapidity evolution up to next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy.

Inelastic Self-interacting Dark Matter and LUX-ZEPLIN 248 keV Event in a Dirac Modular Inverse Seesaw

We propose a novel framework that simultaneously addresses the origin of Dirac neutrino masses and the nature of self-interacting dark matter (SIDM). The model is based on an $A_{4}$ modular symmetry to ensure the Diracness of neutrinos as well as the stability of the DM. The neutrino sector realizes a Dirac Inverse Seesaw mechanism where the smallness of the neutrino mass is governed by the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of a singlet scalar $\phi$. This same scalar couples to a vector-like fermion DM candidate, inducing a tiny Majorana mass splitting that renders the DM pseudo-Dirac and inelastic. Crucially, the scalar also acts as a light mediator for DM self-interactions, potentially solving the small-scale structure problems of Cold DM. In light of the recent 248 keV nuclear-recoil event, LZ230616, observed by LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) DM direct detection experiment, we demonstrate that our inelastic SIDM parameter space naturally accommodates this signal via endothermic scattering kinematics. Furthermore, the spontaneous breaking of the dark parity required for this inelasticity produces a network of cosmological domain walls. We show that the explicit symmetry breaking needed to safely annihilate these walls generates a stochastic gravitational wave background. The non-holomorphic modular symmetry reduces the free parameters, correlating neutrino observables, addressing DM phenomenology, $\Delta N_{\rm eff}$, and gravitational-wave signatures.

Solar Capture Tests of Inelastic Dark Matter after the LZ High-Recoil Event

The LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) Collaboration has reported a $248$ keV nuclear-recoil candidate for which endothermic dark matter (DM) gives some of the largest local significances. We study Solar-capture constraints on three interpretations: a thermal Higgsino, a thermal pseudo-Dirac fermion with off-diagonal vector interactions, and neutron-philic endothermic spin-dependent scattering through $\mathcal{O}_4$. The canonical full-density thermal Higgsino is excluded: its LZ-preferred splitting near $0.38\,\mathrm{MeV}$ lies well below the splitting required to suppress Solar capture sufficiently to satisfy the IceCube upper limits on DM annihilation in the Sun, $\delta\gtrsim0.51$-$0.56\,\mathrm{MeV}$. For the pseudo-Dirac benchmark parameters that fit the LZ event, we find $C_\odot=1.53\times10^{20}\,\mathrm{s}^{-1}$, while two-state kinetics limits the fixed-orbit annihilation rate to $\Gamma_A\lesssim4.4\times10^{14}\,\mathrm{s}^{-1}$, about $1.7\times10^5$ below the IceCube upper limit for the $b\bar b$ channel. A semi-analytic treatment indicates that re-excitation cycles further cool the captured population, although a full phase-space calculation is required for its final distribution. For neutron-philic $\mathcal{O}_4$ scattering at $m_\chi=1$ TeV and $\delta=300$ keV, finite-temperature capture gives $C_\odot=3.98\times10^{17}\,\mathrm{s}^{-1}$, with nuclear-structure uncertainties giving an envelope $(1.77$-$9.72)\times10^{17}\,\mathrm{s}^{-1}$. Under the equilibrium assumption, the upper edge remains about a factor $154$ below the IceCube upper limit for the $b\bar b$ channel. We use $b\bar b$ only as a soft-hadronic proxy because an exact constraint requires the model-specific annihilation spectrum. Solar capture therefore excludes the thermal-Higgsino interpretation but not endothermic explanations generically.

Ginzburg-Landau Theory for Non-Invertible Symmetry-Breaking Transitions

Recently, a generalized Landau paradigm has been proposed, in which a broad class of "unconventional" phase transitions lying beyond the original symmetry-breaking framework of Landau are understood as the symmetry-breaking transitions of generalized symmetries. In particular, in (1+1)D, such "topological" or "deconfined" transitions can be mapped to the symmetry-breaking transitions of non-invertible symmetries. How to extract the universal dynamical properties of the transitions from this understanding? In this paper, we follow the Ginzburg-Landau philosophy and develop a field-theoretic description of such critical points in terms of the fluctuations of local order parameters, now of non-invertible symmetries. The Symmetry Topological Field Theory formalism plays a central role in our analysis, allowing us to identify the algebra of local order parameters from the Lagrangian algebra of a (2+1)D topological order. We illustrate the key ideas and the full steps of this generalized Ginzburg-Landau procedure using the transitions between gapped phases with a simple non-invertible symmetry — the Rep($S_3$) symmetry.

Constructing the Monopole Formula for $A$-Type Good Quivers via Quiver Yangians

Based on the conjectured (and checked for tree-type quivers) quiver Yangian/Coulomb branch algebra correspondence, we give a quiver Yangian interpretation of the monopole formulas for 3D $\mathcal N=4$ good $A$-type quiver gauge theories, also known as the $T_\rho(SU(N))$ theories. Using the algebra action on the $\frac12$-BPS vortices, we reorganize the generators of the truncated shifted quiver Yangian into boundary-adapted generators, and obtain the classical relations in terms of $U(N)$ Casimirs on the Slodowy slice $\mathcal S^{\mathfrak{gl}_N}_\rho$, whose coordinates are given by these boundary-adapted generators. We also show that the boundary-adapted generators and the Casimir relations have the correct fugacities as predicted by the Hall-Littlewood expression of the monopole formula for $T_\rho(SU(N))$, hence reconstructing it as the Hilbert series of the truncated shifted quiver Yangian.

Contact order governs the onset of entanglement cascades

Entangling rates describe a direct entangling channel, but give no information when that channel is forbidden. For finite-dimensional analytic pure-state dynamics, we show that the onset of genuine $(n+1)$-partite entanglement is determined by the contact order $m_\star$ between the physical trajectory and the $S|E$ product manifold. It is the first Taylor order that cannot be reproduced by any product curve, or equivalently the first nonvanishing order of the Fubini–Study distance from the product manifold. We derive a time-ordered recursion that removes curvature-induced kinematic terms and computes $m_\star$ from the Taylor coefficients of $H(t)$. This provides a geometric description of an entanglement cascade, in which new subsystems can join multipartite entanglement only after one or more interaction steps. A symmetry-protected three-qubit model realizes $m_\star=2$, and a three-mode bosonic example shows that genuine tripartite entanglement can arise even when the two newly formed reduced pairs remain separable.

Fermionic hidden zeros

We uncover and prove a general class of hidden zeros in tree-level amplitudes with massless fermions. For arbitrary even numbers and arbitrary arrangements of massless real adjoint fermions and gluons, color-ordered gauge-theory amplitudes in $D=4,6,10$ vanish on general rectangular kinematic loci supplemented by species-dependent bridge conditions. The fermion–fermion bridge is governed simply by the vector current $\chi_i\gamma^\mu\chi_j$, while mixed and gluonic bridges are fixed by the corresponding gauge-covariant contractions. A worldsheet analysis proves the result at arbitrary multiplicity and traces its universality to the local fusion channels $ff\to g$, $fg/gf\to f$, and $gg\to g$, with no new primitive bridge structures appearing at higher fermion multiplicity. The same mechanism extends to ten-dimensional amplitudes with gravitons and arbitrary even numbers of gravitinos in factorized gamma-traceless polarizations, and to single-trace Einstein-Yang-Mills amplitudes with adjoint gluinos and gravitons. These results expose a finite local structure underlying fermionic hidden zeros across gauge and gravitational amplitudes.

Cycles Without End: An Ekpyrotic Braneworld Bounce with a Kinetically Coupled Entropic Mechanism

Cyclic cosmologies replace inflation's single creation event with an eternal sequence of smooth turnarounds, but three problems have historically stood in their way: singular bounces, the blue tilt generic to single-field ekpyrotic contraction, and Tolman's observation that entropy production should make successive cycles longer and larger without bound. We resolve all three within one explicit model. A Randall-Sundrum brane with a timelike extra dimension regularizes the bounce without violating the null energy condition, and a single scalar field's potential carries the universe from a thawing dark-energy plateau through a sign-changing turnaround into a BKL-safe ekpyrotic contraction and back. We show that no correction internal to the brane's Friedmann equation, and no straight two-field trajectory, can rescue the spectral index from the generic ekpyrotic result $n_s\approx3$. We then build the minimal completion that can: a kinetically coupled entropy field, following the general mechanism of Ijjas, Lehners, and Steinhardt, whose coupling steepness has a closed-form, exact-scale-invariance value for this model's ekpyrotic potential, with only a percent-level offset needed to match the measured tilt $n_s=0.9649$. This fixes the local non-Gaussianity ($f_{\rm NL}\approx-0.02$) and tensor-to-scalar ratio ($r\approx7.6\times10^{-26}$). Matching the observed amplitude fixes the conversion coupling and brane tension to unremarkable values ($\lambda\approx5.7\times10^{-3}$, $\rho_c^{1/4}=10^{13}\,$GeV). Finally, because the brane construction is spatially flat, Tolman's entropy argument does not bound the number of cycles here: we derive $N_{\rm DE}\sim70$-80 e-folds of accelerated expansion needed each cycle to dilute the entropy produced back to a negligible density before the next contraction.

Finite stress-tensor moment tomography of boundary-graviton coherences

Einstein gravity in 2+1 dimensions is a topological theory that does not admit the existence of local bulk gravitons. However, $\mathrm{AdS}_3$ gravity with Brown-Henneaux boundary conditions does admit the existence of boundary gravitons, which are described by Virasoro descendants. An observer living on the asymptotic boundary can use finite order moments of the boundary stress tensor as a probe of these states. We fix one highest-weight module and assume that the Shapovalov forms are nondegenerate. We also assume that the unknown state the observer is probing has a known finite descendant support and that interlevel coherence is part of the unknown data. We find that, given a descendant at level $N\geq2$, stress moment tomography at order $N$ (meaning $N$ stress moment insertions) is informationally incomplete, while tomography with stress moments of order $N+1$ is informationally complete. This is to say that, on the unitary regular locus, orthogonal pure states can have the same complete order-$N$ record. Likewise, for exact finite-window result for levels through $L\geq2$, tomography of order $L$ is incomplete while tomography of order $L+1$ recovers every density-matrix block. Corresponding exact thresholds hold in the full left-right theory. In heavy sectors for which a semiclassical bulk interpretation exists, these thresholds say when finite-support boundary-graviton states first become distinguishable.

On the analytic continuation and matching of threshold singularities from Vacuum Amplitudes

We provide a detailed discussion for all kinematical configurations of the analytic continuation to negative values of initial-state on-shell energies used to generate interferences of scattering amplitudes from vacuum amplitudes in the Loop-Tree Duality. We also extend previous discussions on the matching of threshold singularities and introduce angular averaging as an efficient strategy to achieve a local cancellation when the matching of threshold singularities from vacuum amplitudes is constrained by flavour.

The Wilson-line-dressed charged sector of scalar QED: superselection and the infraparticle

We develop a manifestly gauge and Lorentz invariant perturbative calculus to study the finite time and distance evolution of the electrically charged states created by Wilson-line-dressed scalar field operators in scalar quantum electrodynamics. By an Osterwalder-Schrader reflection and Euclidean gluing, the overlap of two dressed states is expressed as a Euclidean 2 point function of dressed operators, which is then evaluated in renormalized perturbation theory with a Stueckelberg photon mass as a gauge, BRST and Lorentz invariant infrared cutoff. This renders explicit and computable in closed form several structural features of the charged sector that have so far been accessible mainly through non-perturbative or algebraic arguments. We find that states dressed by non-parallel Wilson lines are “cloud orthogonal". Their overlap vanishes as a power of the infrared regulator, with an exponent that depends only on the angle between the two dressings and is an infrared analogue of the cusp anomalous dimension with the difference that it is one-loop exact whenever the charged matter is mass-gapped. Charged states are thereby superselected by the orientation of their dressing. Within a superselection sector the 2 point function is infrared finite but exhibits the infraparticle. The mass shell pole is replaced by the edge of a branch cut. As a result, the asymptotic spread of a dressed charge is a power law in proper time with a one-loop-exact computable exponent depending on the dressing and on the direction of motion. We show that although cloud orthogonality and the infraparticle are each extremely sensitive to fundamental infrared cutoffs, the infraparticle scaling law persists across a wide window of proper time.

Heat distribution of quantum fields interacting with Unruh-DeWitt detectors

We introduce an operational framework for heat-exchange statistics between a quantum field and an Unruh-DeWitt detector in Minkowski spacetime. Using an interferometric protocol, we define the characteristic function of heat without projective measurements, consistently with relativistic causality. We derive perturbative expressions for this function and the heat distribution. In the vacuum, the statistics coincides with the low-intensity expansion of a unidirectional Poisson law, while for Kubo-Martin-Schwinger (KMS) states it has a bidirectional Poisson structure up to second order in perturbation theory. We study how fluctuation relations emerge from detector properties and field correlations, identifying regimes where they reduce to known heat-exchange fluctuation relations. We derive the entropic Landauer inequality as a specialization of the algebraic entropy-balance theorem of Jakšić and Pillet and verify it numerically within the perturbative detector-field interaction. We compare its tightness with a complementary Landauer bound derived from the full counting statistics of heat, analyzing their dependence on the detector's initial state and interaction time. We also formulate the first and second laws for the explicitly switched detector-field dynamics, identifying the external switching work that reconciles the field-energy gain with the detector-energy change. In the gapless and delta-switching regimes, where the dynamics admits a non-perturbative treatment, the characteristic function coincides with that of a bidirectional Poisson process, yielding an exact fluctuation theorem determined by the KMS condition. These results provide a consistent framework for heat statistics in relativistic quantum field theory and clarify the emergence of fluctuation relations.

Regular black holes from dynamical-tension string hedgehogs

A spherical cloud of radial strings with non-zero constant tension has an energy density proportional to $r^{-2}$ and therefore produces a singular conical geometry rather than an asymptotically flat regular black hole. We show that this obstruction can be removed within the modified-measure formulation of strings. A continuum of radial worldsheets whose tensions are generated by a composite bulk tension scalar reduces, on a constrained $\mathrm{SO}(3)$ hedgehog branch, to Einstein gravity coupled to a nonlinear function $K(Y)$ and an auxiliary three-form. This construction gives model-independent conditions directly in terms of the radial tension $\mathcal{T}(r)$. Finite curvature at the centre requires $\mathcal{T}=\mathcal{O}(r^2)$, while the null energy condition forbids a faster leading power. Thus a positive regular centre satisfying the null energy condition is necessarily de Sitter. Finite ADM mass requires the tension to be screened at infinity, whereas the dominant energy condition cannot hold globally for a non-trivial positive profile screened faster than $r^{-2}$. An exact cubic profile realises these properties and gives a continuous family of asymptotically flat geometrically regular black holes whose first correction to Schwarzschild appears at order $r^{-4}$.

A principal-symbol obstruction in metric-affine Gauss–Bonnet gravity

The four-dimensional Riemannian Gauss–Bonnet combination admits more than one continuation to a geometry with an independent affine connection. Two natural candidates, the metric-contracted representative and the double-epsilon representative, agree in their Levi-Civita limit, and we ask whether they also give the independent connection the same leading differential structure. In a metric-affine model with a scalar coupling $f(\phi)$ to the Gauss–Bonnet term, we compare their quadratic two-derivative connection principal forms about the Levi-Civita locus. For the metric-contracted continuation, the principal form, evaluated on a twenty-four-dimensional hook-free torsion-free witness subspace at a timelike principal covector, has rank $18$ and nullity $6$ and is indefinite; the full torsion-free form at the same covector is therefore indefinite with rank at least $18$. Locally where $f(\phi)\neq0$, the two-derivative principal symbol of the linearized connection equations is nonzero, which obstructs purely algebraic local elimination of the connection in the activated directions. For the double-epsilon continuation, the corresponding quadratic two-derivative form vanishes identically for an arbitrary perturbation of the connection about that locus, so its principal symbol vanishes with it, and that particular obstruction is absent, though its absence does not by itself establish algebraic eliminability. Thus the leading differential structure of the independent connection depends on the affine continuation of the Riemannian Gauss–Bonnet combination.

Non-critical M-Theory and the Resolved Conifold: Refinement and Nonperturbative Completion

We extend the Hořava–Keeler correspondence between finite-temperature non-critical M-theory and the resolved-conifold A-model to the refined theory. The grand potential of the stationary rotating non-critical M-theory vacuum reproduces the refined Gopakumar–Vafa expansion, with the angular chemical potential deforming the $\Omega$-background away from the self-dual locus $\eps_1=-\eps_2$. At finite thermal radius, we establish an exact match with the nonperturbative conifold completions proposed by Hattab–Palti and by Chuang in the unrefined and refined cases, respectively. Both the one-particle Schwinger integrand and its integration cycle arise from the non-critical M-theory spectrum and resolvent, providing a microscopic spectral realization of these completions. The correspondence fixes the nonconstant BPS sector and the cubic local contribution, while the remaining polynomial ambiguity and the modulus-independent constant-map sector require separate normalization. We explain why the single primitive spinless multiplet of the resolved conifold makes this identification possible, and discuss what additional charge- and spin-dependent microscopic data would be needed for an extension to more general local Calabi–Yau geometries.

Effective kinetic theory description of the magnetic field-induced anisotropic gluon pressure during pre-equilibrium in heavy-ion collisions

We develop an effective kinetic description for the interaction of gluons and magnetic fields during the pre-equilibrium stage of relativistic heavy-ion collisions. For this purpose, we formulate the Boltzmann-Vlasov equation with the interaction term modeled by the effect of the magnetic field on the elements of an electrically charged and colored dipole originating from the quantum fluctuation of gluons into quark-antiquark pairs. We find the numerical solution of the collisionless Boltzmann-Vlasov equation with a time-dependent magnetic field profile to determine the time evolution of the directional pressures. The presence of the magnetic field tames the growth of the transverse to longitudinal pressure ratio compared with the case in the absence of the magnetic field; however, the system does not isotropize since collisions are not included. We study the cases of initial gluon distributions with longitudinal anisotropies, as well as the case of an initial isotropic gluon distribution. In both cases, we find that the magnetic field produces a non-monotonic early-time response for large values of the initial magnetic field strength.

Landau and cluster structures of one-loop amplitudes in ${\mathcal N}=4$ SYM in dimensional regularization

Generalized unitarity, Landau analysis, and cluster adjacency encode complementary aspects of scattering amplitudes. We use one-loop planar $\mathcal N=4$ SYM amplitudes in dimensional regularization, at arbitrary multiplicity and helicity, to make their interface explicit. The weight-two symbol decomposes into an LS part, in which maximal-cut leading singularities furnish the coefficients and Landau loci associated with nested cuts organize the ordered symbol entries, an algebraic four-mass sector, and residual terms. Cancellations of certain letters contributed by individual box integrals, as well as further simplifications, are explained by the two-mass triangle relations among box coefficients. We prove these relations using a BCFW-like application of the global residue theorem and show that they can be understood geometrically as different dissections of the same region in the tree amplituhedron obtained by projecting the loop geometry of a triple cut. We then prove that the full rational symbol, including its infrared-divergent part, obeys cluster adjacency in the flag cluster algebra $\mathrm{Fl}_{2,4;n}$ for all multiplicities and helicities. Within the sector depending only on momentum-twistor four-brackets, we conjecture a stronger cluster property in $\operatorname{Gr}(4,n)$ for all helicities and prove it for NMHV amplitudes: the amplitude admits a representation in which every pole of each coefficient is compatible with both symbol entries. Finally, we observe that the algebraic four-mass letters, although non-rational, exhibit a suggestive Sklyanin-bracket pattern.

Searching for Bell-CHSH-Violating Bose Operators

We construct bounded Bell observables for a free scalar field in complementary spacetime wedges using measurable involutions of the spectral variable of a local canonical quadrature. These involutions yield wedge-local Hermitian unitary operators that anticommute with a chosen bounded observable. For a cosine observable, we characterize the admissible translations and reflections and derive exact correlations at finite modular bandwidth. The affine-reflection construction yields a violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality of approximately 2.06.

Fermionic Casimir memory from an anisotropic gravitational pulse

We investigate the late-time energy deposited by a weak, spatially homogeneous anisotropic gravitational pulse in a massless Dirac field confined between two static parallel plates. The field satisfies MIT bag boundary conditions, while the prescribed geometry approaches Minkowski spacetime in both asymptotic time regions. Using a tetrad formulation, we show that the linear spin-connection contribution cancels for the traceless anisotropy, leaving a coupling to the shear component of the Dirac stress tensor. The pulse produces real fermion–antifermion pairs, whose deposited energy is evaluated through the corresponding Bogoliubov coefficients. Subtracting the production in unbounded space isolates a finite boundary-dependent contribution governed by the pulse duration relative to the characteristic spectral timescale set by the MIT gap. This contribution is negative in the adiabatic regime, where confinement suppresses excitations relative to the continuous free spectrum, and approaches zero from above in the impulsive limit. The resulting pressure correction is nonmonotonic and exhibits two sign changes, alternately reinforcing and reducing the ordinary attractive Casimir force. Unlike the bosonic vacuum-polarization memory previously obtained for the same class of backgrounds, the present effect is a dissipative fermionic memory carried by gravitationally created pairs. Here, memory denotes the persistent late-time modification of the quantum state after the pulse has vanished.

Birth and Death in Two-color ABJM

We solve exactly the leading quantum deformation of the two-point metric of half-BPS operators in $U(2)\times U(2)$ ABJM theory at finite rank. In the natural coupling-independent Schur frame, its tree-normalized two-loop correction is a Jacobi operator on the chain of two-row Young diagrams. A ground-state transform maps it to a reversible birth–death process whose stationary distribution is the Plancherel measure conditioned on diagrams with at most two rows. Its eigenmodes are Racah polynomials, its large-$n$ limit approaches radial Ornstein–Uhlenbeck dynamics, and an equivalent two-spin description identifies the Jacobi operator with a restricted $SU(2)$ Casimir.

Effective Field Theory of Gravity in Relativistic Media

We develop an effective field theory of gravity in relativistic media. Integrating out the medium leaves vacuum gravity with updated Feynman rules: a graviton propagator dressed by the stress-energy two-point function of the environment, medium-induced bulk graviton vertices from higher correlators, and generalized worldline couplings encoded in matched Wilson coefficients. The diagram topologies are unchanged from vacuum, so different media (perfect fluids, collisionless matter, coherent scalar fields such as wave dark matter) are not different theories but different correlators inserted into the same diagrams. We derive the in-medium rules for a relativistic fluid and obtain the full 1PN Einstein-Infeld-Hoffmann potential, the 1PN Stokes drag, the gravitational self-energy and a generalized Christodoulou memory whose new tensor structure records the orientation of the medium's anisotropy, turning the permanent strain into an $\textit{astrophysical weathervane}$. The same rules activate phenomena forbidden in vacuum: the sound pole converts the symmetry-protected, non-running black-hole Love number into a resonant, running one, and graviton splitting $h\to hh$ is open into the longitudinal branch of the dressed propagator, and gives the transverse graviton a width, $\Gamma=G_N\omega^3(1-c_s^2)^2/120c_s^3$, a $\textit{gravitational opacity}$ set by the sound speed. The same vertex makes a graviton suffer dynamical friction. We assess observational prospects, from dephasing and tidal resonances within reach of the Einstein Telescope and LISA to proof-of-principle memory and opacity signatures.

Equation of State of a Strongly Coupled Perfect Fluid with Spin from Holography

We derive the equation of state of a strongly coupled relativistic perfect fluid with finite spin in $2+1$ dimensions using holography. The dual gravitational description is provided by a spinning black hole in $AdS_4$, whose Hawking temperature, angular velocity, and Bekenstein-Hawking entropy determine the thermodynamic properties of the boundary fluid. We obtain the equation of state and analyze its local thermodynamic stability, finding a critical rotation above which the fluid becomes thermodynamically unstable providing a bound for the rotation of a strongly coupled quark gluon plasma at temperature $T$ and angular velocity $\omega$ given by $\frac{4\pi T}{\omega}> 2.77239$. Remarkably, the same gravitational solution contains a second black hole associated with a second boundary. Although this black hole is non-spinning, its dual fluid rotates and possesses a distinct, “exotic” equation of state. Our results provide a holographic equation of state for strongly coupled matter with finite spin and establish a direct connection between black-hole rotation, intrinsic angular momentum, and the thermodynamic stability of relativistic fluids.

Matrix Holography on an Optical Lattice

We propose an analog quantum-simulation protocol based on a lattice of atomic ensembles and time-averaged Floquet dynamics to construct the four-body potentials that typically appear in bosonic BFSS-like matrix quantum mechanics. In contrast to gate-based digital implementations requiring deep circuits, our approach generates the target model through a fixed set of control stages per Floquet cycle, keeping the number of consecutive unitaries constant with respect to the matrix size $N$. The principal scaling cost in our construction is given by the frequency range required to control the growing lattice. We show that this cost grows at most as $\mathcal{O}(N^3)$, giving a polynomial scaling route to large$-N$, attractive to experimental implementation. Additionally, we demonstrate that the coupling parameter can be tuned beyond $\mathcal{O}(1)$, enabling the simulation of strong-coupling physics necessary for holographic phases.

Cosmology, Cluster Algebras, and $\boldsymbol{u}$

We explore the cluster algebra structures present in the wavefunction and correlators of conformally coupled scalar fields in de Sitter space. To connect cosmological kinematics to cluster variables, we utilize the so-called $u$-variables that appear on both sides. Since $u$-variables parameterize a rigid space, it is natural to identify the ones that appear from cosmological graphs and those that arise from cluster algebras. This provides a mapping between kinematic variables and cluster variables. For $n$-site chain Feynman graphs, this gives a coordinate-invariant relation to $A_{2n-2}$-type cluster algebras, while in the case of $n$-site cycle graph momentum integrands, the relevant cluster algebra is $B_{2n-1}$, as found previously. Since kinematic variables are mapped to nonlinear combinations of cluster variables, cluster compatibility imposes strong conditions on possible symbol entries. We use this notion of compatibility to bootstrap the symbol. In the chain case, both the cosmological wavefunction and products of lower-point functions satisfy cluster compatibility, with the correlator a particular combination, so that the wavefunction and correlator share the same cluster structure. In the cycle case, however, the wavefunction appears to be uniquely selected by the cluster structure, and the correlator does not display the same compatibility as the wavefunction.

Decompactification and the Flat-Space Limit of AdS$_5\times$ S$^5$ Master Correlators

We study the flat-space limit of AdS$_5$/CFT$_4$ holographic correlators while accounting for the simultaneous decompactification of the internal S$^5$. We show that this limit is naturally formulated in terms of master propagators and correlators, which resum the infinite tower of Kaluza–Klein modes. For boundary correlators, the resulting expressions can be interpreted in terms of amplitudes with kinematics restricted to 5d. We then consider master correlators whose external insertions are kept in the AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ bulk before taking the limit, and argue that they recover flat-space amplitudes with unrestricted kinematics in 10d Minkowski space. Finally, we show that the flat-space limit commutes with the boundary limit if we analytically continue the sphere so that the bulk geometry becomes AdS$_5 \times$dS$_5$, and the resulting formulae suggest an interpretation in terms of amplitudes in flat space with two time directions and with 10d kinematics satisfying two simultaneous null constraints. We discuss the implications of these constructions for flat-space holography and its relation to the Carrollian limit of the dual CFT.

In a scalar effective field theory (EFT) with Galileon symmetry, we distinguish the strong-field expansion from the derivative expansion and study spherically symmetric classical nonlinear dynamics. More concretely, we consider two models related via perturbative field redefinitions: one with second-order equations that can also exhibit screening, and one that includes a higher-derivative term that introduces a propagating ghost. The latter term is of the type that can “regularise” the equations to render them well-posed as an initial value problem. For initial data that respect the derivative expansion, we find that the first model (ghost-free, unregularised) develops ill-posed regions during evolution only when the derivative expansion breaks down. This result persists in the strong-field regime. We further find that the regularized model reproduces the evolution of the unregularised one when the latter remains well-posed, while it exhibits tachyonic behaviour when the unregularised one becomes ill-posed. We also consider initial data that corresponds to stationary states that exhibit screening in the unregularised, ghost-free theory. In this case, we find that the regularised theory can remain well-posed for initial data that the unregularised one developed ill-posed regions. However, the ghost term naturally dominates over the Galileon term in the screening regime, contrary to common expectation.

The Junction That Remembers: Infrared Response of Two Coupled SYK Majorana Systems

Two strongly interacting Majorana systems of the Sachdev–Ye–Kitaev type, each with its own independent disorder, are joined by a link that is switched on in time. We ask how the infrared structure of the link is imprinted on the response and whether the system remembers how it was opened. At large $N$ the leading cross-correlation between the two systems is an exact product of two equilibrium propagators and the switching profile; because the disorder is independent, no ladder dresses it. The link operator has scaling dimension one half, which gives its susceptibility a universal logarithm whose coefficient and phase we fix and verify numerically, while the gap of the coupled equilibrium problem grows more slowly than the naive crossover estimate. Exact dynamics for up to twelve Majoranas per side show strong parity transfer and entanglement several times the free-fermion ceiling. The work done by the switch has a first-order part that does not depend on the switching time and a second-order part that grows in magnitude with it. Once the work is held fixed, the protocol dependence of the entanglement, the link expectation value and a scrambling diagnostic nearly vanishes, and the small residuals do not depend on whether the protocols differ at low or at high frequency. These small systems have no infrared window, so they neither confirm nor exclude memory at large $N$.

Chaos is Target-Blind in High-Energy QCD Evolution

Chaotic evolution measures how rapidly nearby configurations separate, but the existence of such rapid evolution does not by itself determine what physical information the evolution actually carries. For fixed-coupling JIMWLK evolution with fresh transverse-local, color-isotropic noise, we show that this distinction becomes exact - leading to a no go theorem. At finite rapidity step and finite transverse regulator, the exact linearized update depends on the Wilson-line background only through local adjoint rotations of fresh color-isotropic noise. Once the past is conditioned upon, these rotations leave the complete local noise measure invariant, so the tangent process has the same probability law for any target ensemble evolved with the same regulated fixed-coupling dynamics, including dilute and saturated ensembles. After the exact global color-rotation mode is removed, the reduced tangent process found to have a positive leading Lyapunov exponent which indicate chaotic evolution. Fixed-coupling JIMWLK therefor can be dynamically chaotic while its tangent-only statistics carry no information about the target ensemble. Spatially nonlocal noise however evades the argument because correlations between distinct sites leave relative Wilson lines in the conditional covariance.

CFT characters from localization

We explain a general procedure to compute characters of chiral algebras of 2d (S)CFTs geometrically from their coadjoint orbits, in analogy with the coadjoint orbit method for finite-dimensional Lie groups. We demonstrate that this method can be used to give concise rederivations of the characters of the Virasoro algebra, Kac-Moody algebras, as well as supersymmetric generalizations.
