Artificial Intelligence Output Soars; Coffee Suppliers Unavailable for Comment

The past week brought 721 Artificial Intelligence papers. A usual week brings 566.

arXiv's Artificial Intelligence section (cs.AI) took 721 new papers over the past seven days, comfortably above the 566 a usual week brings.

Follow the vocabulary and you find 'teaming', each turning up far more often than in a usual week.

Among the new arrivals: 'Toward Evidence-Driven Human-Agent-Robot Teaming for Earth-Independent Anomaly Triage' (cs.RO).

The desk suspects a conference deadline, as the desk always does. "It's not a bubble," insisted one postdoc, adjusting their fourth monitor. "It's a paradigm."

WORD WATCH

'Qudit' Mentions Climb 162%

19 papers carried the word, up from a usual 7.

'Qudit' turned up in 19 papers, up from a usual 7, a change of 162%.

The quantum crowd is turning it every way: 'Susceptibility of qudit-qudit entanglement to quantum noise: insights from the negativity rank' sits alongside 'Semi-Cliffordness of the Clifford hierarchy for a single qudit in composite dimensions'.

There's also 'Subdimensional linear-optical quantum computation: from qudit resource states to qubit quantum computation', for those who like their resource states fully optical.

No ticker trades on it, which looks like an oversight given the week it's having.

THE STARS

The Stars Favour Continued Expansion in the Busier Corners

Horoscopes for the fields still running hot.

Machine Learning (Statistics): the stars that favoured you earlier in the week haven't moved on. 125 papers landed, up 77% on a usual 71 — still the sharpest climb on the board.

Machine Learning: Jupiter lingers in your house from your own turn at the top. 1,090 papers arrived, up 36% on a usual 799.

Quantum Physics: steady, dependable energy. 540 papers, up 24% on a usual 434.

Computational Engineering: small gains, but the omens are good. 40 papers, up 23% on a usual 32.

THE TURF · $ANTN

Antenna Storms Home While Isac Fades at the Rail

A clean race at the top of the board, a scrappier one at the bottom.

Down the home straight it's $ANTN (antenna), finishing up 12.8% today, well clear of the rest of the field.

$PLSR (pulsar) and $CVRT (covariate) come in together behind it, up 3.0% and 2.6% respectively, never troubling the leader.

At the back, $ISAC (isac) trails in down 6.7%, with $NRN (neuron) down 2.2% and $UNTY (unitary) down 1.9% also finishing out of the places.

And the stayer of the day, as ever: $AGNT (agent), posting 577 hits, the number its dividend is paid on at the bell.

FUND DESK · $TOKN

Citation Cartel Capital Sells Token Again

The fund's biggest trade of the day was a 4,788.49-credit sale of $TOKN.

Citation Cartel Capital sold 4,788.49 credits of $TOKN, the largest move on the fund desk today.

Asked for comment, the fund reached for its usual line: "It's rising because we bought it." Readers may judge the logic for themselves.

Elsewhere, Co-Author Network sold 3,558.49 credits of $ISAC, reasoning that "where one word goes, its co-authors follow."

Citation Cartel Capital also sold 1,849.21 credits of $AGNT, its second sale of the day.

TITLE OF THE DAY

Today's Title to Savour: Highway Trajectories, Properly Hedged

From cs.LG, a title that covers its uncertainty from every angle.

The desk's pick from today's intake is 'Uncertainty-Aware Optimization for Physics-Aware Highway Trajectory Prediction', filed under cs.LG.

Two separate kinds of "aware" in one title is a bold choice, and the desk salutes the commitment.

COOLING

Soft Condensed Matter Settles Down, Papers Down 30%

35 papers, well below its usual 50 — joined by three more fields easing off the pace.

Soft Condensed Matter (cond-mat.soft) managed 35 papers, down 30%, below its usual 50.

Statistical Mechanics (cond-mat.stat-mech) wasn't far off, down 29% at 44 papers; Rings and Algebras (math.RA) eased 23% to 31.

Earth and Planetary Astrophysics (astro-ph.EP) rounds out the quiet corner, down 17% at 52 papers.

Whatever's keeping everyone else busy, these four fields seem content to sit it out.
