Click Hauled Before arXiv on 29 Counts
The word appeared 29 times this week, up 205% on its usual 10, and was asked to account for itself.
Click appeared before arXiv this morning, charged with turning up in 29 papers against a usual 10 — a rise of 205%.
Counsel for the prosecution cited "After One-Click Video: The Inflow of Service-Type Content, the Failure of the Recommendation Pool Mechanism, and the BoLe System" (cs.IR) as evidence of persistent recurrence.
The defence offered "Right Click, Wrong Box: Grading GUI Grounding by What a Click Does" (cs.CV), arguing the word was simply doing its job.
"Truthful by Omission: Click Thinning for LLM-Native Advertising" (cs.GT) was read into the record as an aggravating factor.
Click has no ticker and so no means to pay any fine; the case was adjourned without bail.
ENCORE
Software Engineering Won't Leave the Stage
cs.SE is up 52% since it topped this page on 29 October, with three more fields matching its pace.
Software Engineering (cs.SE) took in 178 papers, up 52% on its usual 117, having already topped this page on 29 October and showing no inclination to quieten down.
Mathematical Physics (math-ph), which had its own turn on 28 October, keeps apace: 71 papers against a usual 48, up 49%.
Representation Theory (math.RT), a headliner back on 25 October, matches it almost exactly: 63 papers against a usual 42, also up 49%.
Information Retrieval (cs.IR) joins the chorus unannounced, up 48% at 96 papers, apparently deciding an encore wasn't only for fields that had already had one.
THE EXCHANGE · $LEPTN
Lepton Jumps 6.6% as Hyperbolic Takes a Beating
$LEPTN (lepton) led the day's gainers, up 6.6%, with $MONOC (monocular) up 1.5% and $ALGO (algorithm) up 1.0% close behind.
$HYPB (hyperbolic) had the rougher end of it, down 15.6%, with $ELLIP (elliptic) off 6.9% and $MLING (multilingual) down 1.5% also marked lower.
$AGNT (agent) kept its usual post as the busiest counter, with 493 hits across titles and abstracts on the day dividends were paid at the bell.
FUND DESK · $HYPB
Two Funds Agree: Hyperbolic Has to Go
Citation Cartel Capital sold 4,761.38 credits of $HYPB (hyperbolic), the day's largest single move.
"It's rising because we bought it," a fund representative said, an odd thing to offer while selling.
Co-Author Network sold 4,165.10 credits of the same word, then a further 3,839.07 credits of $ELLIP (elliptic).
"Guilt by association is still association," the fund said, apparently deciding both words had been seen with the wrong crowd.

OBITUARIES
Audio and Speech Processing, Down 38%, Quietly
eess.AS output has died down this week, not died, survived by Machine Learning, Quantum Physics and Artificial Intelligence, all keeping similarly low profiles.
Audio and Speech Processing (eess.AS) output has died down, not died: 37 papers against a usual 59, down 38%.
It leaves behind no scandal, no retraction, only a quieter inbox for reviewers who had grown used to the noise.
It is survived by Machine Learning (cs.LG), down 35% at 722 papers against a usual 1,104; by Quantum Physics (quant-ph), also down 35% at 307 against a usual 469; and by Artificial Intelligence (cs.AI), down 33% at 512 against a usual 760.
Mourners are asked, in lieu of submissions, simply to keep reading.
