Audio and Speech Processing Has the Busiest Week on arXiv

The past week brought 84 Audio and Speech Processing papers. A usual week brings 39.

It has been a crowded week in eess.AS. 84 papers landed in Audio and Speech Processing over the past seven days against 39 in a usual week, a rise of 114% and the biggest of any field on arXiv.

The words doing the heavy lifting: 'speaker'. Each turned up far more often than usual, mostly in papers filed under eess.AS.

Among the new arrivals: 'Unified Target-Speaker ASR with Text and Enrollment Speech Cues' (eess.SP).

"We've seen this pattern before," said one quant, who asked not to be named because they have not been named on anything in some time. "Usually right before a conference deadline. Or after. Honestly it could be either."
